Dantalion

Fact - Dantalion is the daemon of the Ars Goetia most popular for being able to know/and change a person’s thoughts.

My question now is: Does he know the thoughts of persons who have died? Does his power only encompass just the living?

Actually several can do this and Paimon is more the go to guy for many people. There’s no real “facts” in the occult, there’s what works for you and then there’s what works for others, try not to limit your thinking by being rigid about it.

Yes they can all work with the shades of those who have passed, as long as they’re still around. Human ghosts don’t generally last long, though if they figure out how to feed off people they can eke out an existence for years before fading and dying the second death (that’s when they leave the qi body and move on properly).

Not sure that’s a fact. You’d have to ask a lot of people as I’m not sure there’s any research on fav. manipulative demons. He’s my first pick usually, but I know a lot of people who prefer others and especially King Paimon.

On your question, I don’t know. I’ve never asked him to communicate ‘beyond the veil’ before. I do have a couple questions you might want to consider though. Why would you ask him though and not a spirit who communicates with the dead? Are you trying to influence the mind of a dead person?

Oh! Like you said - I guess one shouldn’t restrict themselves to what is listed of daemon’s abilities. However, I have to bring up an example based on the knowledge that I know of said abilities to ask you the question. Some daemons can summon the dead to speak. Would that be a torturous experience for the spirit(human) that hasn’t moved on? As I can bet my bottom dollar that THEY CAN see the daemon in it’s natural form, which is known to be a lot to take in.

No. My answers are one being: I don’t grasp the full concept of how spirits who summon the dead work. Do they bring the spirit to me? If that’s the case, I rather not talk to the spirit in specific. Another point - in retrieval of the human spirit, is the spirit tortured by the experience of seeing the spirit? I don’t want to torture a soul. Two - I’m trying to understand their psyche, their character alignment, trying to get an imaginative description of their characteristics.

I’m curious as to more stories of your Dantalion experience. I knew you said that you summoned said spirit to change the mind of someone in another forum. However, is that the full breadth of his abilities that you used. I can guess not. If correct, have you understood the psychology of someone;and, how did the knowledge of the person’s mind come to you?

@Kindraathe I think you might have some insights on this topic…?
On your interest in the dead, try searching “Cain” and see if any of that info helps you out.

@SEEKING_HELP I’ll also direct you to some of the amazing journals we have on here that mention Dantalion (although this isn’t extensive). Please be mindful these are journals and not meant for excessive conversation/question. Some of them are also older than others. You can always use the Search icon and filters to find more (info).

On to your questions,

Honestly, I can’t answer some of these question that well. Yes, I’ve read cards with the dead and yes I’ve known when people were going to die, and yes I’ve had spirits procure death for me. But truth be told, I don’t know if they “show up.” I’ve never seen a dead person like I’ve seen an entity I’m summoning. And the dead people I’ve been in contact with never seemed to be suffering. If their energy felt f-ed up or dark, it’s not because we’re interacting, it’s because of something else.

If you’ve crossed over and are able to see a spirit, I’m not sure that’s going to be the thing that tortures you. Obviously, I can’t answer on behalf of all dead people, but that’s my perception. I’ve felt tortured before in dreams some of my lovely sweet to an immaculate extreme (looking at you Sitri) friends have sent my way, but I don’t think souls that have passed on will be tortured because you’re calling. If they feel tortured, my money is on the idea that they already felt tortured. Also, unless you’re into intense Ceremonial and probably inherently against this, I believe if they don’t want to come, they don’t have to. I would never try to force a passed on spirit into conversation. The times I’ve conversed with them, they’ve initiated.

If this is the case, just go full on necromancy if that’s a path you’re interested in… If you’re insistent on a spirit though, Ronove is my recommendation because he’s the one I know best out of the group known for this thing. Anubis also if you’re into that pantheon. Hades as well. Persephone most likely. Hermes maybe/probably. Any spirit known from communicating with the dead and/or related to crossing over. Ronove is my recommendation because I’ve done ritual with them, but also because he brings me dreams of death (those dead and those whose death is presently unraveling).

I’m gonna throw a casual warning label on this type of magick because it’s something you might experience and might be uncomfortable, not because of danger or anything like that. When you start working with the dead, with spirits closely entwined with death, etc. be ready to have it impact you deeper than the surface-magick you’re consciously doing.

Hey! This is so embarrassing, but yeah. I’ve already read the stories/journal entries that you pasted. I think that I even did the courtesy of liking a few. Do you have any more stories that I can read on?

King Paimon and Dantalion are both excellent with thoughts and mind control, I have worked with both extensively and i highly recommend them.

However if you want to work with shades of the dead, your best bet would be Murmur. He is a necromancy spirit and specialises in communication with the dead.

You wouldn’t use a cheese knife to cut vegetables, yes?

Goodluck

No it doesn’t hurt ghosts to be summoned. And there’s nothing wrong or scary about entities forms. That’s all in your head.

It’s not a “courtesy” to like a post lol. Outs better to be genuine, not do something devise you think you can get favors out of it.

Like posts if you like them, appreciate them, want to say thank you, or just acknowledge you read it, otherwise don’t be fake, is my advice.
