There’s no such thing. You are entering a battle of will between you and another human, where you are attempting to overrule their free will. This is always difficult and there are always risks of harm with baneful magick. From basic blowback to attracting parasites to sending the person mad so they turn on you and try to physically harm you. Browse through the forum to see the horror stories if you want to be forewarned.
Basically, be better them them, want it more than they want to survive (with their mind intact). You are psychically attacking them and the system automatically senses this and responds, regardless of whether they even admit magick exists: ALL humans are magick, never underestimate your enemy.

12 years of posts are here - almost every question a new mage can thing of has been discussed dozens of times, there’s no need to wait for replies for most questions. Most of my job is acting as a librarian pointing this out.
