Contacting the dead Question

Hey guys, quick question.

Has anyone here ever tried contacting the spirit of a deceased occultist, magician, or historical practitioner, such as Aleister Crowley or someone similar? If so, were you successful, and what method did you use?

I’m not really asking about contacting demons or established spirits. What I’m curious about is whether anyone has attempted to contact a specific person who once lived on Earth in order to ask questions or seek guidance. If you’ve done it, how did you approach it, and how did you determine that you were actually communicating with that individual rather than something else?

This seems a lot more uncertain to me than working with demons, because at least with those you generally know who you’re trying to contact. With deceased humans, it feels harder to verify what you’re dealing with.

I’d be interested in hearing about any experiences, methods, or precautions you recommend.

We generally call that “necromancy”, and people use that to also contact dead family and friends, cats, scientists as well as occultists.

I’ve seen posts over the years for this but they’re hard to find, so have a browse of the necromancy category while you’re waiting .

Personally I work with a dead mage I call Akash. He was an Ancient Egyptian priest about 6000 years ago - by my UPG, of course. (Unverified Personal Gnosis), and a witch I call Emily, who came to me claiming to have been murdered by someone I know, and who wanted to help me learn her style of witchcraft. She wasn’t done, and gets to continue vicariously through me.

I made a permanent portal for her following the necromantic work of the Sorceress Cagliastro in her Blood Bible volume II book. For Akash I created a fairly normal vessel out of a statuette.

THEY contacted me though, I called Akash expecting something else, and met Emily while astral traveling to a location that happened to also be where she was buried. I found her shade tried to that location and provided her a way to leave it. I am a psychopomp and tried to help her move on, but she wasn’t having it and now we’re friends.

You have to be sensible and use your discernment with all of them. All ghosts are hungry and need to feed, usually vampirically. The mages may have found stable sources that are not you.. The ascended and higher beings do not.

For the non-famous, I feel there’s lower risk as there’s no “big name” to drop for a imposter to pretend. People are people, whether a non-human entity, or a human without a physical body, they al have thier own agendas, expertise and goals. It depends what you are up to.

Damian Echols did an interesting video on one form of mage immortality that requires feeding that I saved here:

Damien Echol’s video paused at the point of describing how the Egyptian created vampires:

The paranormal world

What interesting about this, is the whole thing looks to me like a missed opportunity.

If I didn’t just add 2 and 2 to make five, we know an advanced Egyptian mage, who is motivated to talk to occultists, and yes, he’s a tricky, lying, parasitic ghost who will try to suck you dry or bodysnatch you, (I guess he not called the “Subterfuge” for nothing) but what has he seen and what does he know? He’s been hovering around humanity for 1000s of years. Unlike the Goetia who to me a are a bit high minded, he’s seen it all up close and personal, and can relate to us as humans.

Very interesting Mulberry it sound like you have a well developed psychic ability. Can you see these spirits because i have had my encounters but it was the type of spirit you find on the road but i clearly saw her and was about to stop but her clothe looked like a hollowgram like in the astrorealm. “met Emily while astral traveling to a location that happened to also be where she was buried. I found her shade tried to that location and provided her a way to leave it.” so you can astro projection with stability. “For the non-famous, I feel there’s lower risk as there’s no “big name” to drop for a imposter to pretend. People are people, whether a non-human entity, or a human without a physical body, they al have thier own agendas, expertise and goals. It depends what you are up to.” Thank you I’ll take you advice

By any chance do you anthing about clairyoance do you know some that that has that gift

Whether you call it astral projection, soul travel, pathworking, guided meditation, remote viewing, or shamanic journeying, these are all the same basic thing - you are getting impressions from your subconscious mind about what is happening, with more or less of what RV calls “site contact”.

Lucid dreaming and full immersive contact, where you forget your body and feel like you’re actually there, is rare and develops as a skill over time. At this level it can even become dangerous as you can apport items including bodily damage back with you when your consciousness returns.

I tend to call it shamanic journeying as that was the context for the first ime I started doing this, decades ago now, with a drumming circle I used to go attend. But it’s all the same, just different cultures and traditions model it slightly differently. It all works.

So, clairvoyance is when you train your subconscious to translate the impressions it gets
to neuron firings for your visual cortex directly. Your eyes are not involved, but the same impulses your eye would have fired are triggered, and you get an image.
It can take a long time to work with your subconscious to get this kind of communication, and most of the time you will work on all the sense at once.

You start by trusting your intuition, and the more you accept comms from your subconscious the more it talks to you. For most of us, it’s like another persona almost, and so used to being ignored it takes a while for it to realize it can communicate at all. Practice, practice , practice is what makes the day.

Yeah, I can see that. For me, most of the time it isn’t some crystal-clear vision. It’s usually more like impressions, feelings, random thoughts, or just knowing something without really knowing why.

I also agree that practice is probably the biggest thing. The more you work with it, the easier it becomes to tell the difference between your imagination and something that actually feels like it’s coming from somewhere deeper.

Interesting point about all these different traditions basically describing the same experience through different lenses. I’ve noticed a lot of overlap too.

I haven’t really felt the need to contact particular spirits of the dead for conversation, but I have used necromancy to capture the essence of dead sorcerers to imbue ritual tools.
