I’ve read several books about Psalms, but most of them require using oil, bathing rituals, etc. Are those things really necessary? Can I just use the Psalms as pure prayer and still get the same (or similar) spiritual effect? I’m from a country where almost no one knows anything about witchcraft , so I literally cannot find those oils and special ingredients anywhere

No. The use of psalms is usually sung as a devotional in a gathering, particularly in a consecrated area such as in a church.
You can use them alone as comfort, and with intention as a working.
