Title. Forgive me if this sounds ignorant or offensive but I must ask. Is there any record of even one of these spirits in any other grimoire? I did my own evocation with Suhn’Tal’Ock, and I was also included in J.S Garrett’s group rite with Suhn’Tal’Ock, and nothing happened. Nothing.
Which book? The E. A. Koetting grimoire?
Yes. The Book of Azazel
To be honest, I tell people to leave the question ‘is this real?’ at the door when magick is the subject. There will be things we specifically don’t believe that still work and are real for others.
I don’t know much about the book, bc I don’t work with Koetting’s literature, but these are the usual questions I run through. Were the spirits mentioned anywhere in the book also mentioned in older books, like collections/compendiums? Does the book you have have a bibliography/references that will point you towards any books with more information? Is your bias maybe because it was written in modern times/is from someone’s UPG? But even then–
To be honest, all books/manuscripts/grimoires were written by some random guy. The only difference between the old manuscripts and books printed today is how old it is. I do understand E. A. Koetting has a good following with confidence in his work. If it didn’t work for you, maybe you didn’t have enough confidence from the beginning, or, it’s just not your thing. There are all sorts of other grimoires out there from modern to older times with unique, one-time spirit hierarchies, and is not that strange.
If it didn’t work for you, it may have been not your thing/didn’t inspire you. Not really a matter of if it’s real or not.
To quote the Book of Azazel itself:
“You ask if I am real? I am as real as the world around you, which isn’t very real at all.”
Interesting. What is the context?
EA asked Azazel point blank if he was real, that is, if he existed independently from him.
About the experience with the Legion Of Azazel, you can search in the search bar countless success stories with the Legion Of Azazel. They’re just very difficult to contact for some people, especially if you are a beginner, and they require they own system of Circle and “initiation” to truly receive all their mysteries.
I you look into the paradigms of some religions, like Gnosticism and even Tantra traditions, you will see that what we perceive as “reality” is just an illusion, a dream created by the God/Goddess. So everything is just God/Goddess trying to be different things, this theory is also present in Taoism, where there was “something” before all the spiritual and material world existed (and everything), that “thing” we cannot name nor describe, because in doing that we are only looking at a shade of that “thing” and not the true “thing”, even calling it a “thing” is already an illusion…. It created the Yin and Yang so it can become manifested, and that manifested version gained the name Tao.
In Tantra, the Great Goddess, in one of her aspects, Kali the destroyer, wants to end everything so all comes back to the Grease Goddess which is the Truth™ to people in Tantra, other things are just illusions so the Goddess can feel each thing individually. This concept is also the same for the Kabbalistics, where the Ain transformed into Ain Soph (The Limitless) to be divided into the infinite natures of the Universe.
So I’ll assuming you’re not asking the philosophical question, but see entities as external and real, generally, in which case, is what you’re asking whether the BoA entities are made up by E.A. and therefore basically thoughforms or egregores, or are they actual sovereign beings in their own right?
I personalty have not called every one of them, but of the ones I have called, such as Mehmi’on, Lae’ti’ohl, Sun’tal’ock, Kruvest, they appeared to be sovereign. I actually met Sun’tal’ock as not one but three ET beings, meaning they have a physical incarnation as well as an energy body, like we do, but that’s another story.
Yeah Azazel is like that. He’s right but I honestly find the whole “maya is an illusion” lark more than unhelpful - and kind of artsy fartsy and pointless. Yes of course 99.99999% of what you look at is vacuum held together or apart by universal forces (strong, weak, gravity, magnetism) but results are results and the rest of us have to get on with doing the experiencing at this level, as we are designed to do. So it’s sensible to put that aside until we have time to meditate on our ascension.
Oh do tell
I posted about it over here actually:
Hi there my friend, this is an interesting post as its dealing with what appears to be personal spirits rather than the generic ones found in more widespread Grimoires. You’re asking why there was no contact. Well it’s just the same when you initially meet someone. You both either gel and get on immediately, or you may form a relationship over time. Blockages however can occur stopping any kind of connection. Whether this is based on too many differences or not I don’t know, it happens and it happens for a reason. Spiritually, we can be too far away from understanding certain types and when this happens, we just need to use different ones instead. I’ve had this myself as we don’t always seem to bond together. It can also be the same in reverse where some spirits just don’t understand us.
Years ago I was writing my own Grimoire and I included the Tarot in it. I wasn’t exactly ignorant with the deck but I wanted help with the definitions for each card in a more profound way. Now because I too was reading through E.A.Koetting (The book of Azazel included) at the time, there was a spirit that really appealed to me. He just stood out and came to me through my readings. He was the 25th spirit found in the Kingdoms of Flame who was a seer and a prophet. A spirit I assumed that was part of a race of unknown entities, Mr. Koetting found and had to record as an inner order Grimoire for him to receive his 16th flame within the Ordo Ascensum Aetyrnalis.
Getting to the point now, there wasn’t any record of this spirit in any other Grimoire I’m aware of. The spirit I’m referring too was called Satagraal, who helped me to learn every Tarot card in a unique way more than any book on the subject ever could. So my friend, spirits that are not so well known do exist and their abilities are just as good as any of the more ‘Stronger’ spirits used by thousands of other people. I use the word stronger because Satagraal didn’t appear to be a thought form or egregore made up as he helped me without any previous connection.
