Navaho Witchcraft by Clyde Kluckhohn has some good information, also according to legend he was assassinated by a skinwalker for writing it and his other works on Navaho culture.

ok so i have navaho witchcraft so in short becoming a skinwalker has so many ways to it but general ideas first becoming a skinwalker requires a so called corpse powder this powder can be made by mixing the bones of the dead especially children twins also this ritual will require group work the author included some places where you can get help or data also in this ritual you will need to kill either a person or animal and eat whichever you killed this will make you have the right to be called a skinwalker also the blessings of the chief of the tribe is required it’s a long process but if you get the right data and work hard you will achieve it but remember this is totally dark dark dark magick and evil and the first path to transforming yourself into a beast
