Can somebody recommend me any good Qi Qong or energy manipulation books.
Basically all of Robert Bruces books, for Qi Gong there is too many to count honestly, you can check at Jerry Alan Johnson for example.
Okidoki, do you know a good Qi Qong book from a Chinese person as Qi Qong comes from China and i would like to go to the source.
He isnt Chinese but Dr. Yang, Jwing-Ming is very good. So is Jerry tho.
Is qi gong Chinese?
Yes if I know correctly.
Huh cool
yeah i see Jerry Alan Johnson is a Grand Master, practicing doctor, and Director/Professor of Medical Qigong Therapy
Sounds good enough for now Thanks @anon84423462
If you can, I would also suggest that you find a Tai Chi group nearby. May not be an option at the moment. It can help kickstart things in the beginning.
Books from mantak chia in general are good to have for that.
There’s also a channel I follow awhile for that topic
He is also the real deal you can learn much from these two.
In regards to breathing techniques.
Sexual transmutation.
Energy work.
And the overall know how.
The best resource are the books Mantak Chia he offer a complete System far over qi qong.
But when you want work in a way of Manipulation you will need Support from spririts. Because you oben real channels near them.
-
Daoist Nei Gong: The Philosophical Art of Change
this is good for both advanced and beginners to gain good theory understanding even if ur never worked with chi practice before -
Qigong, the Secret of Youth: Da Mo’s Muscle/Tendon Changing and Marrow/Brain Washing
if you’re into longevity, increasing ur chi and it’s practicing benefits I would recommend this one
this is base from personal research and i’ve explored tons on energy work books not just dabble in it. Am actual practitioner for over 20 yrs of actual practice not just passive knowledge. So i have some credibility to evaluation of books info presented. Many have lots of fluff that can overwhelm.
Mantak chia can mess you up. he teach stuff that is not for beginners in a step by step way. Many of his students get ill. this is from stories of his students.
jerry alan is very dry. lots of info yet not organized properly for learning. It’s more for people who are into the arts already. It’s not instructional books like the chen kung series…
some of the other authors mentioned is good but they break parts of the system into parts so you don’t get big picture.
Since you want the source. check out stuart olson. He translate the chinese books that are the bible of qi gong foundation. It’s where everyone get their foundation from. Lots of what people teach comes from that source as most are base on that origin. The chen kung series will give you big picture of energy work which is needed for understanding.
here’s the whole set info: https://www.phosphenepublishing.com/r-chen-kung-chen-kung-series
and you can get them from here. i think volume 1,2,3,4,6 is out. possibly can get on amazon too. Chen Kung Series Archives - Valley Spirit Arts
He have many other books on energy cultivation too . check out and browse the valley spirit arts site. Also check out the “I ching tai chi” . i prefer doing this one rather than the long yang solo form. it’s more shorter base on I ching yet long enough. Tai chi parts probably more useful after you learn the chi kung foundation as it’s required to improve the energy parts of tai chi. The good thing is that the info is really done well . great explanation and translation.
All in all, author mentioned are all good info if you have background in it. Since you are beginner and want the source, then the chen kung series can’t lead you wrong or mess you up with extra info that isn’t energy manipulation/cultivation related. All others or just repeat info in their own word. some more in complicated way than others.
Bruce Franzis. He is a lineage holder in the Water tradition of Qi Gong. His book Opening the Energy Gates of The Body is superb. His method of inner and outer dissolving has no equal for removing blockages in the energy system in a relaxed way, unlike most other traditions, that have you burn through them (a hallmark of the Fire traditions).
I also highly recommend his two books on meditation, Relaxing Into Being, and The Great Stillness.
He also has a book called The Chi Revolution that provides some quick and easy methods for raising chi.
Thanks, DK. Ordering a couple of those now. Been feeling the pull again.
I like Robert Bruces books on raising energy using tactile imaging. There’s one specifically dedicated to energy work called “Energy Work: The Secret of Healing and Spiritual Development”
I believe that one includes three of the seven sets of Dragon and Tiger Medical Qigong. I read somewhere that the Energy Gates set contains standing, cloud hands, swinging, spine stretches, and dissolving the energy gates.
Since the Qigong community is mostly focused on health, I’m not sure where to ask this, but would you say this set could help someone open their psychic sight and hearing? Or would it primarily help someone develop the ability to sense energy?
Energy sensing is innate, once you get it you realise you always did. Look up how to make a qi ball, that’s sensing energy, then practice it and develop the skill.
In qigong the sense development comes with the territory - you cannot help but get better senses if you cultivate your qi - but it’s considered a distracting side effect, or was, by my qigong teachers.
Zhuan Falun
I might have found the energy system I truly needed!
I’m curious about what happens if someone works through this system properly and dissolves the third eye gate. Would it enable them to have visions, and how does that process work? I’ve read that simply working on the chakras doesn’t automatically train psychic sight—a person needs to actively practice skills like scanning or remote viewing.
However, with Qi Qong, it seems that just progressing through the sets can naturally develop psychic sight by cultivating chi and clearing energy blocks.
How does this work in a practical sense? What exactly is the third eye gate? Is it the same as the Ajna chakra, or is it part of the upper dantian structure? As far as I know, they aren’t the same thing.
The warning text at the bottom of this image advises against creating connections with the upper facial gates. However, it also mentions that these gates can enhance latent powers of the mind. It seems that developing psychic senses through them may require the guidance of a master. I had hoped simply buying the book would be enough.
