The work you do is amazing and fascinating. Do any of these arrows come from the Picatrix?
Thanks. I needed the encouragement. I have never heard of the Picatrix. I will have to buy a copy.
Read the Picatrix for free, for anyone else who wants to read it:
Why are you silly?
Achernar has the strange habit of calling me “Dragon” instead of by my name. Remember, my spirit self takes the form of a dragon. He says that dragons are silly and I am silly. He doesn’t understand why dragons like rocks and will hoard them. They’re just rocks, he insists.
One year I went to the Oklahoma selenite mine to dig for crystals. Crystal Digging | U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service The crystals were everywhere, even laying on the surface of the ground. I had collected a lot of them when I heard Achernar say, “Dragon, do you have enough of those rocks yet?”
“Hmmm…no. I’m going to get all of them!”
I could feel Achernar thinking and calculating. “Do you have any idea how long it would take to get all of them?”
I laughed. “I wasn’t being serious.”
“Oh. But why are you getting so many? What will you do with all of them?”
“I want to give my friends some when I go back home. And I want to give Sheliak some, too.”
Speaking of Sheliak, Achernar thinks she is a ridiculous bat. “She agreed to work for the Egyptian pantheon in exchange for rocks?” he had said. “Why? I would never take payment in rocks!”
“She like rocks because they are very shiny and pretty,” I said.
“So? You can’t do anything with them!”
“You…uh…put them on the shelf and look at them!”
“And what else?”
“You wear them!”
“And?”
When I didn’t answer, he said, “See? That is what I mean. The rocks are useless.”
He often asks why I do things and why am I silly. He also asks why humans do things. One day he asked me what demolition derby is.
“It’s when humans get in cars and crash into each other on purpose.”
“Why?”
“They think it’s fun.”
He thought for a moment. “They must not be a very smart species.” Then I laughed because I could see why a non-human entity would say think that.
Terebellum will certainly twist your petitions.
Terebellum’s fictional avatar, Undertaker, in a live performance of Black Butler. The comic series is about the young Earl Ciel Phantomhive and his demon butler, Sebastian. Undertaker is a shinigami (Japanese death spirit) who poses as a human undertaker. Undertaker is the guy in the top hat with the gray hair. Sebastian is the dark-haired guy with white gloves.
I don’t understand a word of Japanese, but I know what is going on here because I’ve read the comic. Undertaker has resurrected a dead student because his murderers asked him to. They wanted him to undo their mistake. However, the resurrected student is simply a soulless corpse (zombie) who wants to munch on the living. Undertaker thinks that what happens next is very entertaining.
Edit: I thought the code would make clip would begin at the 11 minute mark. You’ll have to fast forward.
Set thinks Black Butler is a “ridiculous human comic” and laughs at it. It does get ridiculous.
One of the comic’s themes is how easily tempted humans are. At one point, one of the shinigami scolds another by saying, “You know better than to tempt humans. They are weak creatures who will do anything to make their lives a bit more comfortable.”
It’s okay to make contracts and petitions, but watch what you ask for with those Arrow-demons ;p
Spirits will appear in a form that the human understands. For example, it’s the reason why Zosma and Terrebellum like to appear to as Grim Reapers instead of this:
An ancient Egyptian would recognize and understand this imagery, but a modern human? No, but they understand the symbol of the Reaper.
Rasalhague B, aka Shadow, told me that he will appear to modern humans as a well-dressed angel because it is a form they understand and find comforting. This form says, “I am a messenger sent by a divine being. I am here to help and protect.” If he revealed his true self and nature, he would scare the human and they wouldn’t listen.
One of his “true” forms is a ball of black tentacles covered in red eyeballs.
The cartoon hedgehog is a less “scary” version of his hedgehog form. He said his character and backstory are filled with hints that an occultist would pick up on, but an average human would miss.
I just realized that his fictional avatar was allegedly created by human scientists + an alien because the humans believed that Shadow’s alien blood would be a magical cure-all that would heal humanity. Rasalhague is the star of healing. Why did I not notice that?
Shadow said his father, “Black Doom” (Rasalhague A) will appear to humans as a seraph, or six-winged angel. Why a seraph? Because he’s not just any messenger, but a very powerful, top level one and seraphs are said to be among the highest of angels. Basically, he’s communicating to the human that he’s really powerful.
Ugh, I’m tired “Black Doom,” but here’s your journal addendum.
The statement that humans will find his and his son’s forms “scary” and therefore they alter their forms is not a negative statement against humans.
Rather, he recognizes that his spirit form has attributes that humans are genetically programmed to find frightening and predatory such as:
Pointy teeth
Sharp claws
Glowing eyes (predators like lions and wolves have glowing eyes)
Eyes with slits (again, predators such as crocodiles and lions have these features)
Tentacles; they resemble snakes and all primates are genetically programmed to fear snakes and anything that looks like a snake
Basically, his natural appearance communicates to primates, including humans, that he is a predator and he wants to communicate “here to help” instead.
Plus, humans and animals are programmed to fear the strange and unknown because doing otherwise will get you killed. Imagine, for example, a raccoon that sees an alligator for the first time and runs toward it out of curiosity. What will happen to that raccoon? It will get eaten and its genes are eliminated from the gene pool, while the cautious raccoons will survive and pass on their cautious genes.
After reading the last post, I realized that is typical of Black Doom’s super-logical alien logic, heh heh.
He says strange, humous things like, “I have learned from my research that primates love bananas. Would you like a banana, human?”
I got a $500 bonus from my boss today, which I posted about in the thanking spirits thread. Asmodeus specified that I owe him a nice dinner. I asked where and he said a steakhouse.
After work, that’s where I went. I looked at the menu. I don’t know anything about types of steaks or have a preference for how it’s cooked. I can’t remember the last time I ate one. It’s too expensive for me to afford. Asmodeus pointed one out and said, “medium rare.” He told me to leave a nice tip for the waitress because generosity and sharing the wealth is important.
I did not realize that Black Doom was there, too, until he started talking. Referring to the baseball game on TV, he said, “I know what this is. It is a sport. The male humans play sports so they can act out their desire for fierce battle without killing.”
“Um…yes Black Doom. That is what baseball is.”
Well fuck
I was watching the first Mario movie with a friend of mine. I wondered if there is a “real” Bowser because he’s based on Japanese mythology. In the West, he is called “Koopa King,” but in Japan, he is “Kappa Demon King.”
A kappa is Japanese demon (yokai) that takes the form of a turtle. They will, like the fictional Bowser, sometimes kidnap human maidens. I just being curious and silly. I didn’t really want to know. But something responded to my thoughts. I heard a growl and got the impression of an ancient reptilian beast.
“I didn’t mean to bother you, dude. Please don’t come over here.”
I didn’t know if that being was “Bowser” or a kappa at all, but it was something.
See: Kappa | Yokai.com
Probably a Kappa you interpret as Bowser because that’s how you see them. I’ve had a Tanuki in my old house before while I was drinking a pint of Guinness asking for a swig in a heavy northern Irish accent
Probably. I was thinking of Bowser as “kappa king who lives in a ridiculous castle filled with lava pits and traps,” and maybe something matching that description responded.
Rasalhague A, aka “Black Doom,” is a strange spirit. He is like, “Hmmm, these humans are a primitive barbarian species because they do things like enslave each other. I, the super smart alien, will teach them to do better.” But at the same time, he doesn’t understand humans and says bizarre things. I have to tell him things like, “Humans do not work that way. They do not consciously think about what genes their mate will pass on to their children.”
Tutu, the sphinx god called “Master of Demons” or “Master of Arrows,” said this is because Rasalhague A is a space bug. An insect and a vertebrate have very different programming and psychology. This is why Rasalhague A seems so strange and alien, and humans seem equally strange and alien to him. It’s also why his speech is awkward — his kind communicates in ways humans don’t, such as chemical signals, so human language isn’t natural for him.
His son, Rasalhague B/“Shadow,” is also a space bug, but has a hedgehog form. This mammalian aspect makes it much easier for him to relate to humans, who are also mammals.
An Invocation to Avert the Arrow-Demons
I found this posted online.
Goddess of the Week - The Seven Arrows of Sekhmet
I also found a prayer book devoted to the Seven Arrows that involves invoking the arrow-demons to remove disease and imbalance. In Egyptian thought, an entity that can give something can also take it away. The book is $0.99 on Kindle. The author claims to have channeled it from Sekhmet. I will download this book later, give it a try, and report back here.
If it doesn’t work, I only wasted a dollar.
Both Rasalhagues have tried to explain star formation to me. By that, I mean on both the physical and spiritual levels. I could tell they were really dumbing things down for me. Then Rasalhague B said, frustrated, that he couldn’t go any further because I didn’t have enough physics knowledge to understand anything more.
I did read about star formation afterward, and he did give me the correct general idea.
So, I have to read a physics book.
From a magical level, I can say basically that stardust is star spirit semen and the void around it is the mother’s womb. The star’s father adds more seed to the dust cloud over time until it is dense enough to collapse. The star’s mother can store seed in her body like some animals can.
An Arrow Demon in a Children’s Cartoon
I do have to say that “The Blood Drinker Who Comes from the Slaughterhouse” is one of the best Egyptian demon names I’ve found in Egyptology texts.
***
This is a dorky educational cartoon called Tutenstein. It’s about the King Tut mummy coming back to life after being struck by lightning. One of the episodes features an arrow named Shadow Gobbler. In the Egyptian language, his name is Am-khaibit. I’ve also seen Am-khaibit translated as “Shadow Swallower,” “Shadow Devourer,” and “Swallower of Shades.”
Am-khaibit is one of the 42 Assessors in the Book of the Dead. As I’ve written before, this text says that the Assessors are the Arrows of Osiris and Anubis.
In this episode, Tut recites an Egyptian spell that separates your shadow from you. Egyptians believed it was possible for mages to do this at night. The shadow could roam about and cause mischief, even placing curses upon an enemy.
The shadow was considered to be one of the seven parts of the soul, so you definitely wouldn’t want Am-khaibit to eat it.
Shadow wants blood.
I learned that Egyptians used red alcohol as a substitute for blood in rituals. The thought occurred to me that red alcohol would make a great offering for an arrow. Then I noticed that Rasalhague B/Shadow was beside me. He was the one who put that thought in my head.
“I want red alcohol,” he said.
I bought beer and red food coloring today.
Actual blood and bodily fluids were forbidden offerings in Egypt, so it makes sense that they used substitutes. In Egyptian magic, a substitute was just as good as the actual thing. For example, there was an ancient ritual that involved the pharaoh slaying a hippo. A magician could “slay” a figurine of a hippo, and it would be just as effective.
I understand now why red beer was given to the goddess Sekhmet.
Remember that 99 cent prayer book I mentioned? It was a waste of a dollar. It was not what was advertised. It is not about invoking arrows for healing. It was a translation of an Egyptian text that was posted on that Goddess of the Week link. It’s a prayer to make the arrows go away, not a prayer to call on them for healing.
Now everyone wants blood.
I gave a red-dyed beer to Sekhmet and Shadow, and they enjoyed it. Then Set popped up and, grinning, said, “What about me?”
Ok, Set, I said, you can share.
Then all the Arrows I know wanted red beer.
Shadow said he and his wife would take offerings of tobacco. He especially likes fine, rich people cigars if the mage can afford it. Then he told me his favorite drink is whiskey and his wife likes martinis.
I Don’t Want Your Strangelove
One Halloween night I asked Google, “What is the scariest movie ever?” Google seems to think the answer is Hellraiser. Mmmkay. I’ve never seen that one, but I’ll give it a try.
I watched the movie. It wasn’t scary, just gross and dumb. Some moments were so dumb they were funny.
The next day at work, I was alone in a room, listening to my headphones. The song “Strangelove” by Depeche Mode came on, and I felt something watching.
I looked. It was Pinhead and the cenobites (fictional S & M demons).
“Are you fucking kidding me?” I said.
I got the feeling of, What is your pleasure? You want to solve puzzle cube?
“Are you fucking kidding me?” I repeated. “No! How stupid do you think I am? I’ve seen your movie! I know better than that! I want nothing to do with you or your cube! Fuck off!”
The beings hovered about, then vanished. I think they were egregores, but they could have been something else. Their energy was cold and black and creepy.
They did come back later, manifesting as “Strangelove” suddenly played in my head. “I said NO!” I said. They never came back.
Next: Another Halloween, I get astral kidnapped by Jigsaw. Or something that wanted me to think it was him.
Kidnapped by Jigsaw
One October, Netflix was showing all the Saw movies for Halloween. I’d only seen the first one, so I thought, why not watch the rest in a marathon? I think there were only four of those movies at the time.
The movies were dumb, btw.
Later I was on my laptop listening to Pandora radio. A song I’d never heard came on. The title card said, “From the Saw Soundtrack.” I don’t remember the song’s name. It contained the lyrics, “a new life, a new day,” or something like it. I had a vision of an old man lip-syncing to the song.
“Whatever,” I thought. I don’t have time for this. I went to sleep that night and was astral kidnapped by Jigsaw. I know it wasn’t a dream, but I don’t know how to explain it. All I remember is that Jigsaw was taking me on a tour of his compound, which looked like a long hall of rooms. Each room contained a person being tortured. I happened to look to my right into one of the rooms.
Jigsaw told me not to look. Then he lectured me on why he “had” to do what he was doing: people needed to learn a lesson so they could do better.
I woke up with remnants of cold black energy clinging to me. I focused on the energy because I wanted to know wtf had just taken me on an astral trip. I saw an image of a completely dark room. A beam of light shone in from the right, illuminating a patch of the metal floor that had a puddle of dried blood on it. I could smell a metallic scent.
Sometimes when I focus on energy, I can see the entity, and sometimes I see other sorts of imagery. I don’t know what that image means. I’m guessing that the vision I saw was a room in his “compound.”
Fuck this and fuck Jigsaw, I thought. What was the purpose of that little trip? Why would he try to justify what he was doing to ME, of all people? The guy was just deranged.
I think this one was an egregore because I could tell the imagery in his “compound” was cobbled together from my mind, made of things that disgusted me in particular.
I should stop watching horror movies.
