“Zamargad is the name of the land to which Lilith betook herself in her flight from Paradise, near the Red Sea , where she set her abode and mated with demons who were well known to be living on those shores.”
Lets talk about Zamargad. I have used the search function and came up with exactly ZERO matches with this name. Does anyone have any further information they can share on it?

There is no more detail about it in the traditional literature. However, being said to be situated near the Red Sea hints that it may be located in Egypt, and there is an actual island called Zabargad (English name is Saint John’s Island) in Foul Bay, Egypt.

Adam Clarke published a comprehensive exegesis of the bible; he mentions Zamargad in context of the Book of Job (old Testament of the christian Bible and as the final section of the hebrew Tanakh). In 1:15 of this Book, Job gets his livestock taken away and his servants slain by Sabeans, ancient south arabic folks. In his exegesis Clarke mentions
The Chaldee says, “Lilith, queen of Zamargad, rushed suddenly upon them, and carried them away.”
referring to the attack of the Sabeans on Jobs livestock and servants. I suppose that this Zamargad is geographically connected with ancient south arabian land (now Yemen, Oman and Saudi Arabia) and that it also interlocks with the fabled land of Sheba, a kingdom mentioned in the Quran and the hebrew Bible (which is said to be geographically located either in Southern Arabia or the Somali Peninsula)
So if she took herself “near the red sea” (and if its REALLY the Red Sea and not a possibly translational error in terms of “sea of reeds”, look up “Yam Suph”) its probably something located in Yemen or Saudi Arabia these days.
