Working with dragons through D.J Conway's books

So I’m about to head in the the next ring from dragon enchanter to dragon shaman hopeful all goes well but think it the chapter will heavy focus on healing of sorts. Go through most all 3 of Conway book and there is a lot of information to sort through with clans elemental magick ,astrology, dragon script, and so on. I wish I could get through it all but I need to learn as work because I have tendencies to have analysis paralysis which lead astray in my work sometimes I ask my co-magican dragon if I should go over this and he always says no think more creatively rather then rigidly when using elements of dragon magick.

Also been work on matter of self-love self confidence focus and mental clarity. I need to work on procrastination too but one step at time. There also lot new stuff I been using since my spiritual journey the making/using of powder and oil. Dancing and lot evocation I need focus my intent more when performing magick dispite my short coming I seeing progress in my senses and my abilities to manifest thing in the physical and I appreciate all the dragons of done for me I even tho I can be reckless at times.

My Gripes about these books is the idea of karma don’t really like the concept but it brought up several time in the books. Another is meditation there rather long to point I have to record my own meditation sessions so I won’t be busy look at the book for what need to be visualize. My last problem with these book is good portion of these book can be ripped out and kept in just in one book the is lot information that repeats itself in these books some book add on to what was not previously said in a past volume even add new material to learn but a good portion of these books is a repeat of what you have already read which most pertains to some basic and the magick system that Conway employs. There no working sigils in this book but dragons are usually given title that you call them by unless a dragon has given its name which has the same weight as a sigil maybe more but I haven’t been give the opportunity to test it the difference.

I wish there was more book on dragon but the Selection of books is like limited and good majority is based on folk lore you’re rather than magic which isn’t a bad thing but wish there was more to read through and study. Maybe there a reason why there hardly any book written in this manner. Hopeful I will uncover the secrets regarding them for myself through working with them. I Been happy and the many joy in life that I’m waking up to especially cooking but can’t help but feel that amount of work that expected of me seem daunting and the are many hoop to jump through before I really sink my teeth in it all. I think that everything I want to say for now. Probably forgot something but if anyone has anything to add to this feel free to comment.

DISCLAIMER: I HAVEN’T READ HER BOOKS (I do own the Celtic Dragon Tarot though, it’s pretty awesome, but this doesn’t impact my reply.)

Dragons are not like the Goetic daemons, it makes a lot of sense that there aren’t “working sigils” printed in the books. It’s an entirely different system. In general, many spirits don’t even have or use sigils. What you’re being taught is how to communicate, not how to trace a seal.

Correct me if I’m wrong someone, but I believe dragons are notoriously secretive as well.

I’m a bit confused by your post honestly. You open with this, and you have to know what kind of system you’re getting into if you’re using these words. “Shaman” is a word that was popularized to make certain cultures and their systems “Other” (different in an incompatible way) than “dominant” ones like, for example, Western Medicine and Science.

I personally have a strong distaste for the word (in its current use) for a great number of reasons. But you, having seen the word should have looked into it. And there you will begin to understand what type of person is the author of your book. Not only that, but you can also see that D.J. Conway is into Wicca by simply googling your author. Wiccans have a tendancy to preach about karma, if you don’t want to hear about it, don’t read magic books by Wiccans. (Personally, I stay away from anything that has the term “white magic” or “light magic” anywhere.)

It’s a recap. She wants to point attention to things a reader may have forgotten or show you where her past and present ideas are connecting. It’s meant to help you understand the material. But yes, frustrating if you already know everything and how it connects.

There’s a reason. Dragons aren’t for everyone. Books about “dragon magick” I’d assume would tend attract incompetent practitioners like a moth to fire. Think of all the children. Now think about dragons, do you know them to be trifled with and not care? Sure, they might think a couple people are great, have the blood and bones for magick, but all of them? Not everyone can invite magick into their lives. Aside from that reason, people who practice with dragons aren’t usually to vocal about their experiences to those outside their groups. There are exceptions, of course, like Conway who sees the dragon sphere through her Wiccan lenses, but how many? That’s how many books you’ll find.

Appreciate you commenting on my post don’t have problem personal witj using name rather then sigils but I was more make note of rather then complaining about it I got no issue use as long as they feel effective and base on my work they have which might feel similar to my understand of working with fairies.

I don’t necessarily believe in shaman but it is Terminology use for expression each of five inner ring which are explained in context of each ring. sorry for any confusion but only see self as a person look to practice dragon magick not only any facet that I deem helpful to my progression and
the approach are numerous but dragons are my focus for now

I’m well aware of D.J. Conway and Wiccan tendencies I also agree with white magick or light magick stuff but my understanding of magick is not based on that not say that’s what you said but I looking to further with my understanding of dragons in general I think I’m smart enough to filter idea and values that don’t align with my goal and style. I speak of my persoal frustration with books but still think it could be useful given time sort though it all where most of my frustrated stems from.

This is quite true for My initial workings with dragons a slow start it definitely not for everyone but after working with them for a time they have open up to me and there been some interesting experiences I’ll say. There been changes internal and external in my life and there definitely committed to help as long as do my part. I’ve been sworn to secrecy for some of the happenings. Haven’t got in the whole dancing not my particular cup of tea but they like it they like it a lot even go so far to join me in the act but do make work for myself. It has interesting effect on other spirits too.

I understand why there limited materal for dragons general when it comes to magick but wonder if I’ll get into it with them about it trying put word out maybe convince them to allow a do as such but I’m long way from there I’m not frustrated about the lack of material but they’ve been around for awhile there hardly nothing. Raziel spoke of this to me too.
I take the lack of info a challenge. I hope find what I’m looking for but for the most part I’m making sense of all of the dragon shit. @meow I do appreciate the criticism if have other point i be happy to talk more.
