Why so varying sigils between traditional goetia and the grand grimore?

There quite a difference between the signals presented in traditional goetia which i believe stems from Joham Weyer’s Pseudomonarchia Daemonum. It could surely be said that what’s important is the intent behind them rather then the science but if they are inspired directly from said entities- there certainly is a huge difference in style and structure between the styles presented- I mean look at the sigil for Astoroth in the grand grimore vs traditional goetia with the star like structure. I mean it’s a world of difference- how are these sigils comprised and created??

Who knows but after reading jfk works I would go with the older sigils from Grimoire Verum.

See I like that!! A simple who the hell knows is as valid of an answer as any! I glanced over the grim verum and while I didn’t compare side by side it looks as though the sigils for “the big 3” (if you will) look identical to that of the grand grimore. They are definitely the same style. Interesting Lucifers is the same pictured there that we all know.

There really is no known answer for them, unless the spirits gave it to them or there is some missing work inbetween the GG or GV and Goetia. One of the sigils for Lucifer in the GV is actually the sigil of Clauneks but this is corrected in Kent’s True Grimoire, also there are different sigils for Astaroth and Belial in the Austrian Grimoire called “Touch Me Not”, I made a thread about it a few years ago, no idea how they got them, in Kent’s work Pandemonium about the spiritual hierarchy, he also has some different sigils for Paimon, Belial and Lucifer that were taken from Plut 89 or 98, can’t remember which one, so there are different sigils for the major spirits in this tradition.

It took some googling and I was able to find at least after digging somewhat of an idea as to what these where- very interesting. To bad I don’t read Latin or Italian. If I’m taking the context clues literally here in the article I’m I to assume that Frank Klassen has translated this. Here’s some links because I think others will find this interesting too.
