One of the things I have noticed is sometimes (not always) lights flicker during evocation. I used to think it was just cause I was using this old incandescent flashlight, but when that stopped working and I replaced it with an LED one, it still did the flickering sometimes. I know it has to do with energy and all of that, but I would love to see others experiences, because you don’t have to use candles.

An experience like this which I had was in the 90s. I said the conjuration to Lucifuge, and a candle I had lit caused the room’s shadows to move widdershins from wall to wall.
By the way, yeah, a first form of transition to a scientific or even only modern magick (if one wants to, of course) can be the use of tealights; then indeed LED etc. The same way as an oil diffuser could replace incense.
