The same way each individual person may or may not be, entities have various feelings like we do about certain things, memories, triggers, so on and so forth. Ask the entity.

maybe a type of spirit can be affected?

Rain here can’t touch them so doubtful, so it’s better to ask the entity so the mind doesn’t make up what it thinks it is.

There is a lot of power released during a thunderstorm. It’s possible the static energy buzzing in the air disturbs them in some way.
