In NAP there is a spell for controlling others, and in it, help is sought from a spirit called “Dynamis.” The name is definitely Greek, and I found it strange since in all the other spells, help is sought from angels with obviously Hebrew names. When searching for information about this Dynamis (whom the book seems to refer to as a single individual, although I cannot be sure since Old English is not my strong suit), I find things like that it is actually the name of a type of angel (or another kind of spirit) or that it is a type of energy. This has confused me quite a bit, and I would appreciate it if you could clarify things for me, since I am translating the spells into my language for my personal use and when speaking I have to differentiate between whether I am referring to one or more individuals. And by the way, this has nothing to do with Dynamis, but since I’m talking about NAP: Does anyone know if the “magical mentor” referred to in the book is the HGA?
Dynamis is not a spirit per se, like an angel or a demon, but more like a universal force. There is an older post here about it:
It helps to think of Dynamis in a way similar to how people speak of the spirit of a sport or an event. Comments like “That’s the spirit!” or “Get into the spirit of things” don’t refer to any particular being but to the force or energy of what is happening.
No, the magical mentor is a thoughtform you create. It is not the same as the Holy Guardian Angel.
