Who or what is Abrasax

Who is Abrasax , I can’t seem to understand if his a demon ,a god or God (The Abrahmic God Adonai).

In some text I see I see his is used to invoke heavenly angels .

To my knowledge, he’s a demon whose name is the basis for the word abracadabra.

How can such a lesser entity have power over angels and arch angels . Mostly when divine beings are evoked , you evoke them by the names of God not by the name of a demon.

Maybe a fallen angel but calling and binding an arch angel with the name of a demon doesn’t make sense

It’s not a demon. The word originates in Gnosticism and is more like a principle than an entity. It was considered to be one of the progenitor forces that created the universe, along with others such as Dynamis. It was seen as an “Aeon” in Gnostic texts, an emanation of God.

Throughout history, the word has come to have various meanings due to mistranslations and cultural mixing. Some think it is a god, some think it is a demon, and still others think the letters of the word represent the seven classical planets. However, if you go back to the oldest sources it seems it is mainly a Word of Power that represents the First Principle, similar to another Greek word, IAO.

@anon48436995 The Basilidian Gnostics is who you beed to look up as i believe that where abrasax originally came from.

Abraxas is related to IAO in the old Aeon, VIAOV the new Aeon :dragon:

Is Dynamis a particular entity? Somewhere I read that it’s a class of angels.

No, as I said, Dynamis, like Abrasax, is a force, a principle of creation. It is not an entity.

NAP by the old frater has a Dynamis incantion to gain power over other people  Does it make any sense?

He called it “Mightiest Dynamis”, like if it was an entity.

I’ve been experimenting with this and other incantantions from NAP. Mild results with this one, no backslash so far.

Dynamis is used in spells to get things moving. It’s for the acceleration of results. However, it is easier to address an abstract force or concept like you would a spirit because humans cannot relate to it otherwise. We basically anthropomorphize everything for ease of communication.

To the Gnostics, Dynamis was an Aeon, an emanation of God. The Gnostic concept of emanations is a bit similar to the Judaic Sephiroth, which were seen as the result of the outpouring of divine force as it traveled from Ain Soph (God) down to the material plane of Malkuth.

This makes sense with Gray-Cobb’s incantation :sunglasses:

Have you worked with this entity ? And if so what was your experience . I heard that his powerful .

And to add on that note , Hinduism doesn’t speak well of him. Christian and Judaism out right call him a demon and Hinduism says his Rahu & Ketu an headless evil god who’s head was cut off by the supreme God .

They say he causes complete havoc and in one’s life financially and materially. But spiritually enlightens you like never before

Abraxas is very powerful and seems to be a God or Goddess. all magickal orders work with Abraxas. Anyways try the VIAOV mantra instead of IAO and Abrasax or Abraxas and maybe through divination find out which suits you best.

What exactly is the difference between these two words . I know that IAO is the god abraxas but who’s VIAOV and what exactly is the purpose of the mantra

As my understanding besides Egyptian or gnistico is a force energy power, compose along the abraxatan abraxas hada etc used in rituals ceremonies.

Is the name of the divinity of the actual Aeon. It’s at the beginning and still developing but as most important in the magickal orders. IAO Isis Apophis Osiris is the old Aeon.
