When you use a pendulum to ask a spirit if they’re interested in working with you

And they say no, do you accept that as their final answer?

I mean you have no other choice to, you can’t force them to deal with you.

agree

What I’d like to know is how you can trust a pendulum. How can you ever be sure you have the right spirit answering your questions?

I got this same question in mind.

So how do you know it’s the spirit and not just your mind influencing things?

I always use a printed, consecrated Seal.

No, you can compel them to work for you against their will.

However, in doing so, the quality of the result will not be…optimal, and the spirit will generally stick exactly to what you want, no more, no less, meaning that if you are not specific and they find loopholes, they will deliver thing you may not expect. That is why you often hear stories of traditional magicians getting what they want, but having things in their lives turn to shit in the process.

That’s closer to the way Solomon/etc does it. I work with spirits as equals. I don’t force anything.

I know. i simply answered the question. The OP asked, when a spirit says no, they don’t want to work with you, if you have to accept that, and the answer is, no, you do not if you don’t want to. :man_shrugging:

Very true. So pointing out that you don’t have to, as a fact.

Work on your intuition and there are ways to use a pendulum without touching it.

I mean do I continue doing invocations and meditations to them?

Can I really trust that I’m actually speaking to the spirit?

I’ve used pendulums to talk to spirits before but my problem is that I have shaky hands so I always have to “mount” my arm somewhere like on top of a table or something so my hands don’t shake but it’s also uncomfortable. So now you’ve peaked my curiosity, how do you use a pendulum without touching it?

You can hang it on something, it still works just as fine as if you were holding it. The pendulum doesn’t require touch, but it’s just has been the easiest way to use it.

I’ve never used a pendulum in this way, and probably wouldn’t trust it by default. I assumed this was the actual question behind the OP’s question.

Trust comes with practice, but some doubt will always remain. I’ve been practicing for a long time, and I am still sceptical about things. It’s healthy, and can help prevent self delusion. You just don’t want too much of it. I liken it to a child playing pretend. For the duration of the ritual or exercise, put your doubt aside, and pretend. You can pick the doubt up again afterwards (it actually helps with grounding).

Interesting, I always thought it required touch to connect with your intuition? I guess it doesn’t matter as much since spirits would be the one’s controlling it?
With that said, I have noticed quite a few times that when I use a pendulum to connect with spirits I’ll feel my hand being touched as if the spirit is using the energy around my hand to control the swing of the pendulum.

This is a problem that I deal with intellectually. Practicing the occult often seems to require some entity to act as like a spiritual sponsor. You pray to them, invoke them in ritual, and meditate on them. They in return meet you half way and guide you along the journey.

Unfortunately there’s no objective manner to determine if a spirit wants to work with you. This isn’t like in the movies where they make themselves known in some grandiose and magical way. It’s all about signs and symbols. The problem is you don’t know if you’re interpreting them right, or if there’s anything to interpret.

If I may throw my hat into this topic. I too have used pendulums for a good amount of time. They’re like a multi-purpose tool, they can have many functions depending upon the person and what they need it for.

From what I have gathered over the years, a pendulum is using not only your energy but your higher self to answer the question or however you use it, it’s your higher self that primarily influences it. At least in the beginning of your pendulum workings that’s how a lot of sources teach how to use this tool.

When you’ve tuned and cleansed the pendulum specifically for whatever workings and you keep it in a protective case or some thing that will definitely help keep away unnecessary influences. Having multiple pendulum’s for multiple uses could help clarify some confusion in your workings.

For example taking from personal reference, I have three, one for chakra cleansing only, the pendulum itself is made from Selenite with corresponding crystal beads for the chakras. Second is made out of citrine this was my fathers after he passed I use this to connect with him specifically because it was his. And the third one is amethyst with moon stone that is what I use only for divination and to give insight on confusing matters.

Of course all pendulums can be used for anything but having certain ones made from specific crystals or stones may help with getting more definitive answers and clarifying your work with them. The core of the pendulum working comes from your higher self and the idea behind that is your subconscious and your higher self already know all of the answers that you need it is simply confirming. That’s one aspect of this tool. There may be confusion within the energy itself that you’re trying to attune to that could be influencing the pendulum.

As for making sure it’s the proper spirit that you’re speaking with, banishing rituals and cleansing rituals to clear your area and your self as well as your tools may also prove beneficial before you start any kind of divination.

This works excellently for pendulum and demon sigil to put in the middle
