im also interested in using a black mirror, to bad I broke my previous ones X.x
I would like to learn little bit more about scrying mirror, Tattvas cards and chakras balacing.
ah yeah - eleventh vote on the poll hah
Also - even though I voted for black mirror scrying - second runner up would be bones and stones.
I am quite informed on using pendulums, I-Chings, and Numerology/Wordmantics as āDivination Tools.ā I would love to learn how to utililze a black mirror for scrying.
I have worked extensively with tarot, stones, and astrology. Black mirror scrying interests me the most, but the others on this list would be interesting as wellā¦
Wouldnāt the use of a computer screen be equally good as a black mirror :
Itās black; itās essential nature is one of communication ?

An interesting question, and Iām not entirely sure that I know the answer. However, I donāt think a computer screen would work quite as well. With a scrying mirror you have simple a dark pool to stare into for your divinatory efforts. With a computer screen there are thousands of electronic parts hidden from sight which could interfere/break under the strain of the spiritual energy used to scry. It has been my experience that most electronics responded poorly to magickal energies. Just an opinion though, and I could be wrong.
Iām in the process of making a black mirror, so Iād like to learn what EA has to share about black mirror scrying.
Wellā¦in terms of the object itself, yeah, itās dark and it reflectsā¦however, thereās also the whole deal about consecrating the black mirror, whichā¦I think, wouldnāt be practical to do it with a computer screen, for example, if you need to go on a trip somewhere, to take your screen with you. Also, I agree with DakrVnet, electronics and magic donāt mix well.
If you want a black mirror, thereās a really easy way to make one: purchase or make (depending on your craftmanship skills, I have none, so I bought one) a photo frame and a can of black spray paint. Spray one side of the glass and leave it to do. Do this as many times are needed. There, you have your black mirror.
If you want to go a more natural route the back of the glass can be painted with blood. I bought some antique convex glass for mine, but convex glass is pretty cheap and seems to be easier to use for scrying IMO. Convex glass and blood are the method Iām using.
Iāve played around with most tools of divination, and what stands out for me is the phenomenon of āowningā the tool & developing an affinity with it. One of the most efficient ways for me to do that is to make the tool myself, with focused deliberate intent that it shall serve me well and that I will use it with respect, confidence and appreciation for the clarity it brings me. I voted for scrying because it is the method Iāve not yet worked with more than superficiallyā¦Iād like to get a good solid feel for itā¦
There are two dark mirror scrying techniques I have used. One being a non-reflective convex mirror to use as a focal point to enter trance and journey into planes either non-specific, a āshamanās journeyā, or specific, by using a designated symbol point in consciousness, such as a sigil or square. If the mirror is placed into a Triangle of Art, and the triangle is hanging vertically, rather than flat on the floor, then it can be used as a gateway into those realms by moving oneās soul-body through it. You could place it on the floor, but you should move your soul-body to hover above it and drop through it like a chasm. The other technique I really enjoy is the use of a reflective mirror, where the magician stares at his reflection as a focal point and the reflection shapeshifts into the being he wishes to contact. This is more useful for operations wishing to seek a channeled information from the spirit or for issuing commands. It also a really cool visual effect and helps adjust the eyes to become more sensitive to actually seeing the spiritual in the objective plane. Iām still needing to experiment more with fluid condensers, like bodily fluids, herbs, metals, and crystals before I can give any my opinion on their effectiveness.

DakrVnet,
Iāve been using broken LCD screens for a while now. I have one home-made black mirror, one store bought, a small black obsidian crystal ball, and a large clear quartz ball. And honestly - the two that work the best are my home-made black mirror and my LCD monitor. It might sound weird, however I explained my theory as to why it works so well on facebook. When you think about it - itās unplugged, however it has circuitry which gives it energetic potential. On top of that, itās being held across actual liquid crystal. Crystal, being the energetic component/door way. So - even though it might seem that it wouldnāt work that well - LCD monitors work extremely well. Like really really really well. heh
So yeah. I highly suggest it.
Iāve also got a theory about CRT televisions, however I have yet to try it.

In my experience, LCD screens work phenomenally well. And I donāt even charge mine. In fact, as my previous post explains, my un-charged LCD monitor works as well, if not better, than my home-made and consecrated black mirror.
omg! thatās frickin awesome using an LCD. I never thought about it like that before! Thank you!
For my black mirror, I actually took the time-consuming and tedious method of crushing up amethyst, quartz, obsidian, angelite, and a few other piezoelectric and etheric crystals into a fine powder. Heh - and maaaan, quartz and amethyst are TOUGH to break - so it took a long time. When they do break, they come off in extremely sharp glass-like shards. So if anybody tries this, just know, you will get cut a few times in the process. Also, I assume no responsibility should anyone try this heh. But finally, after I got the crystals into a decent powder, I mixed it with about 5ml of my own blood and some black paint. I then painted the back of the glass in the frame. After that I set a large copper coil in the center of the wet paint and let it dry face down. It was definitely time consuming. However - it is a phenomenal device. If anyone should decided to do this, make sure you do it somewhere safe. You donāt want hidden shards of quartz laying in wait to stab somebodyās bare foot in the kitchen. Also - wear protective glasses. I had a few close calls where the shards nearly got in my eye. I donāt recommend taking that risk.

Thatās a very interesting idea! So once the paint dried, was the surface smooth & flat from incorporating the crystals?!? I might have to just get some black paint and mix blood into it.
Iāve heard a few people say that the bodily fluid life energy dissipates so has to be applied for every operation, whereas the herbal fluids last a bit longer still needing reapplication, and then the crystal/metals lasting the longest. Anyone heard this before? Agree/disagree?

Yeah, it smooths out if you let it dry face down. It took a couple days since it was so thick though. The paint does have a granular sparkly quality to it when you look at it in the light.
