The Bornlees Rite is an invocation of the Holy Guardian Angel. It is often used in place of, or in conjunction with, the Abramelin Operation to obtain the Knowledge and Conversation of the HGA. It was adapted from an exorcism in the Greek Magical Papyri by the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn (the original exorcism called upon the Headless One).
It is also sometimes called the proper Preliminary Invocation to the Goetia, and was introduced as such by Aleister Crowley, though the traditional Goetia does not contain any such rite.
