Spirits can appear however they want. They appear based on the concepts and perception that is unique to you in your own mind.

The Grimorium Verum “Lucifer appears in the form and figure of a fair boy. When angry, he seems red. There is nothing monstrous about him.” Lucifer has always shown up looking like that to me no matter how hard i try to force him to look different, he tells me "Nope, this is what i am and how i look’ So…
My advice is that if you read what a spirit is supposed to look like and can’t see yourself having a conversation with that, get the Sigil and meditate with it and asked out loud What you look like, and an image will appear in your mind and it will become clearer the longer you do that and that will what it looks like, it may help.
Do spirits even have faces? Are they just in our heads? etc, etc, Who knows.
I will tell you something that Belial told me the first time i met him and asked him all those big questions.
Belial "Son, What’s the difference as long as you get what you want, does any of that really matter?"
Oh and if i evoke Belial indoors he shows up as a black robed scowling wicked looking old man, if it’s outdoors he shows up looking like a gray satyr…Don’t know why i just go with it nowadays.

His appearance would depend on your personal ideas and preferences.
If you felt he was evil then you may see the Christian representation. If you realise that he’s a helpful and pleasant spirit and you have a lot of national pride, then he’ll probably resemble your countrymen.

To me Lucifer and Satan is the same entity. He came to me as the most sexy dark haired man I have ever seen I can’t compare to anyone. But I think the energy around him made him look that way. Take the energy away and is just an ordinary person. So I think what you see actually is the energy. Belial appeared to me in human form as a skinny not too tall man straight hair blonde and very white face. I don’t know why he took that form, maybe not to scare me…he became very possessive lately, he delivers what I ask but he is just kinda possessive lately. Ronove has a very pleasant energy I would say feminine, I see him as a very feminine figure but he’s still a male…so I don’t know…Belzebub is something huge and dark blue dark gray reminds me of clouds in a stormy weather I did not see a certain face but each time he’s around some insects and spiders come up…and so on…I am pretty sure for each person is different depends on your willingness your fears your ideas, the demon will take the shape he think it suits you the best to see.

Based on my own personal experiences with the spirits I’ve worked closely with, they can appear any way they want and can change their form at will.
A spirit is not as limited as you’re trying to make it. Rather than thinking of them as a human being without a body, try thinking of them as Conscious Power, like Living Lightning.

I don’t really think Lucifer ever appears like a monster, ever… he is just about one of the most handsome there are, there in the Infernal Empire… Same as Belial… sometimes, he appears as not one, but two young men, in their mid-teens… As the others have said before me, the idea a conjurer makes of a spirit, demon or angel certainly does count…But, Lucifer is handsome…

Geometric shapes and points of light to me - maybe he knows I’m already thoroughly spoken for, and doesn’t bother sprucing himself up.
