Are there some combination of colours better than others in creating sigils -background paper and sigil lines?

I, when creating a sigil use whatever colors are symbolic for me to my goal/the sigil. It’s about intent.

Yes. Look into what’s known as “flashing colours.” It is a big part of Golden Dawn talisman creation.
