Perform a cleansing and exorcism on them. Ask their wiser self if that’s okay, do it. If you see no changes in three days then the behavior is a result of nature and nurture.
There’s some confusion around satanic spirits protecting children, and children also being abused in such so-called rituals. Maybe summoned onto them is too total and one-sided. Perhaps the personality of the child becomes too fractured to fully acknowledge and accept that kind of protection, especially if the abuser is also being accepted as the protector.
Did you ever notice that, when speaking of the classically accepted (Hollywood) possession experience, demonolatry practitioners never get possessed? It is always some Roman Catholic or Charismatic Christian who , you would think, would be the last one to ever become possessed.
It raises the question of whether such a thing actually exists or not. My opinion? No it does not.
Possession: Knowing things the person didn’t know before, speaking in other languages (Dont know if that’s true). Strength the person didn’t have before. They don’t just ‘snap’ out of it with medication.
My brother is a paranoid schizophrenjc diagnosed in the early 2000’s. His episodes die down within 1-2 days if having medication. He doesn’t soeak languages that he has no knowledge of, and he doesn’t talk about things he couldn’t possibly know. He does hallucinate, have delusions, paranoia, cant manage his money, etc.
In my experience, if you have to ask yourself: ‘Am I mentally ill?’ You might not be. I think the same goes for possession also, depending on if it’s full possession or only partial.
This has been known to happen with organ transplant recipients (taking on traits of the donor) as well as those with traumatic brain injury (developing fluency in a language they don’t speak), albeit both instances are extremely rare.
Yes, I’ve heard of that happening before too. My doctor once told me there’s loads of illnesses or conditions with the same symptoms. I don’t think it’s safe to say a person is possessed or mentally ill because they have a few of those traits. It could be harmful in the long run.
Personally, I think true possession is extremely rare. Contrary to the opinions of the fundamental Christians, demons and other spirits have better things to do with their time than to go around and randomly possess people.
I don’t think someone showing high levels of strength is automatically possessed because your body has that capability naturally via the adrenal system. All it takes is a microscopic cyst or tumour on the adrenal gland to trigger it.
As for knowing things, again, not really a sign of possession because there are many facets to human consciousness that we don’t know anything about, and it could easily be something as simple be low level telepathy or even a natural burst of psychic information. After all, we filter out a good 80% of what our minds actually perceive, so it is reasonable to conclude that it could be unconscious information making its way into the conscious, nothing more.
As occultists, we know that we can evoke anything and everything, not just the traditional spirits. People here have evoked the “spirits” of books, diseases, fictional characters, the subconscious mind, and I think it was @Micah that evoked the “spirit” of Schizophrenia itself. People really don’t need to be possessed to exhibit strange behavior. Our brains are perfectly capable of doing that all on its own.
To be honest, I don’t see the point in these threads. You shouldn’t really self diagnose anyone with a mental illness or possession. Surely if you felt that yourself, a friend or family member was experiencing this, you’d get them/yourself to a doctor? I know some people may just be curious, and that’s fine! As long as they don’t go diagnosing everyone with a trait or two, or try to class it as the same.
@DarkestKnight I agree. I think possession has been blown out to be a big thing because of movies. I knew a friend of mine was pregnant before she even said anything, as well as the gender, but I wasn’t possessed. It was a one off thing and not something i can normally do lol.
Disassociation can definitely be a sign
