Discussion on whether it’s a good idea for the target to know you cursed them because you want them scared of you.

NOTE: In the US at least, it’s against the law to threaten people with harm, with magick or otherwise. It’s also why we never name names here for any kind of magick even if well intended. Don’t get arrested for an ego trip.

Death curse. Know my power!

Unless you are walking up to someone and blowing powder in their face, I find it doubtful that one would exist. The mindset that many people have that spirits or magic do not exist blocks them from being able to really pick up anything that would tell them “hey, you’ve been cursed by such and such”. If they do, they’ll likely just rationalize it away just like everything else outside the norm. Understanding human behavior and pointing stuff out that makes others think you can rear their minds (therefore know all their dirty secrets) is far more efficient if scaring the enemy is the goal. Applied knowledge is one of the many forms of power out there in the world.

There are other entities that can make someone scared of you without getting overt about it.

30. Forneus
    Make somebody fear you.
    This can be used on a stranger you’ve never met if you know their name. It is most effective when used on somebody you know well. The power will cause the arrogant or troublesome to become afraid of you. Be certain that fear is the sensation you wish to induce, because although it has many uses, fear can make people ineffective, defensive, and even violent, so use your judgment.
