Last night I tried to call out to sallos by chanting his enn, asked him for what I wanted and told him what I’d offer. Not sure if it worked. No dreams, not much of anything. How do I know if he heard me? Should I try again?

Did you “open” his sigil? That is, draw it and look until the lines seem to flash or become 3D then repeatedly call Sallos, further entering trance. You may also begin by invoking the elements: simply imagine the green energy of earth flowing from northwest to center of the room, fire from southeast, water from southwest and violet air from northeast; or call gnomes, salamanders, undines and sylphs. Work on astral senses: concentrate on forehead for clairvoyance and on your throat for clairaudience, with the mantras Om and Ham.
Edit: although, this may apply in the future; you may choose to decide that this operation already worked, as well.
Hmm I didn’t try that. The more I read about this. The more confused I seem to get. Or maybe I just didn’t go deep enough into meditation or a trance to get there.
Does it matter what color marker you draw the sigil with?
You may draw the sigil of Sallos in (light, if possible) green, the color of Venus.
Can’t remember where but I can recall a few people on here saying that whenever your call a demon or angel, that they always come. Or at least, they listen to your request.
I can see why that might be true, I mean if I was a demon I’d totally respond to anyone who was giving me offerings.
Just try not to doubt yourself or the ritual you did for Sallos just because you didn’t feel anything or experience anything. Gotta have faith in what you do man.

I don’t have faith in him helping me. I just don’t seem to have faith if I’m even doing it right… maybe it takes practice?
Also how do I even know if his answer is yes to help me?
On a website about direct magick, the mi3/tomekeeper’s one, there is the explanation that a certain concept, “purity”, may be interpreted like that: the evoker aligns him/herself with the Spirit. So he focus on love, lust, wrath etc. according to the entity to summon. This entity will consider the magician as pure and will get ready to act on a given target.
E.A. Koetting says that the Spirits are power, power wants to act and they comply with the evoker’s “bidding” (provided that it’s addressed to the right one) because it’s their job, what they do.
