I don’t want to sound like a complete ignorant of all this but I have always heard either in books or from other spiritual teachers or a practitioner of magic that I have to ask the universe and it give it to me. Through all magical steps like petitions affirmations, rituals etc. How we are somehow connected with the universe? I still don’t understand much. Why is it said that let me believe the universe that it will give me my wishes. We came out of the source, so what is the universe? So is he actually our God and creator? .is it an entity? It is said that scientists have discovered that the universe has consciouness. So the universe is really a god who experiences life through us? Every time someone says ask and wish the universe for something so I don’t know what is behind it all. So am I really praying and talking to our god? Like the universe? Or to all the higher beings up there?
Firstly, it is not necessary to directly “ask the universe” for something to get results.
But yes, it seems the universe is one body. Without this, divination (through Horary Astrology and omens such as through the flight of birds) would not work, nor would electional astrology and so on.
So, everything is one in soul. Almost all our predecessors had this belief, and they were far more experienced than any one here, and we can see this universe as one body in practice as well.
However, the connections between things are not equal.
On the Source, it’s commonly believed that there is a single source, and it’s not difficult to see why many believe so. Although, it has also been seen by different magicians of old that there are multiple sources. So, you’ll have so see for yourself what is true in your practice.
That’s actually an interesting question.
When people say to you wish to the universe, the whole The Secret thing, I believe what they mean is about positive energy bring positive energy. So in this chain of thought in specific is about the law of attraction, they use the universe cause is where we all are, is the greatest things out there, but the mainly point is that if you wish something you have to “send the universe” positive vibes about it, feeling that you already have that thing day dreaming about getting that, the way I see is more about energy, send positive energy and positive energy will be sent back in the form of your wishes. To many of those people the universe is god, to others is more related to our own mind, cause is about you attract what you desire, not gain from the universe, but attract to yourself, shape the energy out there and in ourselves into tangible things, everything is energy after all. Is similar to magic but is more of an independent way of get things. By yourself per say.
But to many the universe is the god.
Now I will tell you what it is to me, keep in mind that that’s my personal belief, not the truth. In fact you won’t find the truth regarding this, you will have to read about others untill find your own. 
To me it used to have nothing, just a conciousless empty darkness, until something was born, The Creators and The Drestoyers. Both are the universe itself. Which is why positive and negative thoughts and energy can affect our lives. The Creators created the first gods, the first beings, giving them power to create as well. Those first Gods created worlds and humans and others species that live in other planets. Those first gods could also created, or procreate other gods, create others beings such as angels, fairies, etc.
The Destroyers will destroy, consume everything one day, one way or another. Mostly people don’t like talk about the end of our world, don’t believe it will end, which is fine, but the thing is this scientific proved. The sun will die someday, not tomorrow, nor in our grandchildren generation, only billions of years from now, but it will die, if human haven’t destroyed earth untill that, our planet will die and it will be the end of us, when this happen, The Destroyer will feed from it, will have their touch on it.
The Creators and The Destroyers are not good nor evil, they don’t have feelings or personalities or agenda, they don’t interfere, they’re not a he or she or it, they’re a force, nature itself, universe itself. They exist, they creates, they destroy, they’re the creation itself, the destruction itself. A conscious, yes, all things they created directly or indirectly (such as us) is part of this conscious too, we’re part of the universe, we hold within us the power of creating and the power of destroying literally and magically. So to me this is the universe. When I send my wishes to universe, I’m sendind a positive energy to myself, cause my conscious is one with the universe, so this energy will be send back enhanced with The Creators, so I can through my own mind/desire/energy create what I want.
But when I pray to x god, goddess, demon, angel, etc, than is really the entity that is helping me, giving what I want. Cause they’re also part of the universe but just like us they’re individuals.
If I wish to the universe be sent a guardian angel, this angel will come, cause my and the angel conscious are one with the universe, so the angel can feel this desire be send to the universe and decide to come me. In this way or thinking I believe that my mind, our minds and the minds or others beings are connected through the universe, cause we all are part of the universe, so we are part of each others in a way.
I don’t know if I explained in a clear way, sorry. But this is my personal belif on this. Hope its helps you somehow find your own.
Your universe is you and you “the human” is a part of it. That’s how I understand it. When you petition the universe, you’re asking the totality of you to attend to your needs.
The universe is reflected inside you! When one part of your body hurts, it sends you a message to attend to it. When the message is clear to you, you act accordingly and feel better because this small part of you got its need met. If your body doesn’t give you clear messages of its needs, you wouldn’t know what to do…
I don’t believe everyone shares the same universe, maybe groups do.
Yes, according to some magical theories the universe (like everything and everyone) is an entity which may even be summoned and, in its own case, would manifest as “God”.
