The Inverted Pentagram?

Is the inverted pentagram an “evil” concept, I’d like to know more about its functions and symbolism, what it represents, how it can be used in rituals, could anyone explain what it actually is, I feel like there’s a lot of religious dogma tied to it

The pentagram symbolizes the elements of air, earth, fire, water and spirit. When it’s inverted it symbolizes the spirit’s grounding to the material. I see it as the symbol of the left hand path and if there is a goat head within it, it symbolizes Satanism.

Not exactly evil. The upfacing pentagram with a single point up represents humankind and also was in some places used as a ward wagaibst evil (I’m fuzzy on why) and basically someone noticed the upside down one with 2 point up resembled the shape of a goats head (2 horns 2 ears and a beard) and equated it with Baphomet (possibly the templars) then some Christian’s turned Baphomet into the quote unquote “the devil” and the symbol thereof and then it started being used to represent baphomet or still sometimes as the 5 elements (earth, water, fire, air and Akasha) in magick as well then was co-opted by some Satanist as well as some occultists as a symbol of evil/the devil (as per the Christian concept) just because the Christian’s equated it with the tdevil. So not really evil unless you want it to be (but you may wanna look up what associations Baphomet has to better understand).

Summary Add: The history of the pentagram is complicated but it didn’t start out as evil or even a symbol of Satan until some people decided to make it symbolize those things and it doesn’t have to mean evil or the devil unless you want it to.

It can also be seen as the entrapment of the spirit by the formed elements.

Ritualistic it can be used in many ways both as a gateway into the draconian current.

It can also be used to invoke the elements instead of the “rightturned” pentagram.

I find the usage of Baphomet in most forms of satanism a bit offputting, as its orginally an symbol representing the union of opposites and balance.
The only intressting usage is within Sethurian satanism where it holds a certain posistion.
The templar connection is based on false accusations and has to do with the political climate in Europe at the time rather then heresy and worship of satan.

Yes the above posters are correct. A “normal” pentagram one point up symbolizes the mastery of pure spirit over the elements almd the material world.

The inverse pentegram is a symbol of the spirit being trapped inside the material and possibly subjugated by it.

It is also the seal of baphomet when dressed up just a bit.

To be more clear the message of baphomet is traditionally “Solve et coagula”

Which usually means something to the effect of
Solve et coagula is a maxim or motto of Alchemy which means “dissolve and coagulate”. It means that something must be broken down before it can be built up.

I see the “upright” pentagram as representing spirit above all matter.

I see the “inverted” pentagram as showing the spirit calling down all magic into the physical realm.

No dogma involved in that, but wearing an “inverted” pentagram will still get your weird looks from certain people.

So will wearing a Lucifer sigil (probably thanks to Marilyn Manson).

Yeah, I hate that because no one used to know what it was!

Ive been thinking about this, and it would be as if the pentagram fell down upside down, but in the same quarter. So, the invoking directions are simply reflected downward.
