Ok, I remember reading somewhere online that there is a demon who functions as a Jester to the Infernal Empire.
For the life of me, I cannot find the source I read this in, nor can I remember the name of this particular spirit, sadly.
However, as someone who has been prone to both humor and also fascination with the occult most of my life, I must say I’m drawn to working with this spirit and am really ready now so to speak.
Does anyone on BALG recall an Infernal Jester? Also if anyone on here works with him I’m curious to know what your experience was.
I searched both on the forum search bar and on the internet in general and came up dry.
That’s a very interesting question!! None come to mind. I’m guessing you mean the jester as in a trickster archetype? If not the following will not make much sense ^^
Most trickster archetypes as a god in various cultures are/ were already considered both benevolent and malevolent. Maybe not worth for other tribes or the christians to demonize any further
Gods like Anansi and Loki come to mind, can’t really think of any other than just gods/ demons with a trickster side to them in some stories. I think the trickster/ jester gods were just fused in with “The Devil” when people turned away from their original beliefs and became more and more christian (or another monotheistic evolution of faith)
Although in a lot of folklore the trickster is usually not a deity, like the Fae or coyote or Djinn. Or a specific character in stories. In the Netherlands we have both Reynaert The Fox and Tijl Uilespiegel. Which are characters in folk stories, not really gods or characters with godlike capabilities. Just character with enough wit and cunning to outsmart others and enough drive to trick to get themselves in trouble time and time again. So even further specified as an archetype instead of a specific deity.
So in terms of finding a demon or god to focus on in ritual, you might be more successful to connect to a jester mask or aspect of a spirit to search for instead of a separate spirit. For instance, in the book “Rites of Lucifer” by Asenath Mason and various other writers Daemon Barzai speaks of The Trickster as one of the many masks of Lucifer.
Honestly I have had dreams where this one clown does pop up but he’s not a normal clown. As I discovered once he is actually a demon that appears as a clown. He would come to test me and honestly I thank him for making me hate clowns lol I’m not sure if he’s the same one you’re thinking.
He looks like a jester or clown and often pulls tricks. He CAN be cute but most of my experiences with him are just annoying. I felt he did have ties to the Empire but didn’t know if he was anyone specific or simply a demon that came to test me and knew I hated clowns. I don’t fear clowns per say but more like just have this instinct to attack lol
i have engaged with an entity that could be considered so.
it was a being of maniacal hilarity and called itself Oron. though I did not question its allegiances.
it’s approach was quite interesting and it tried to impart it on me as a tool. and it has some merit.
when certain conditions are too difficult to process logically, intentional maniacal hilarity can be useful in diminishing their destructive impact.
though the danger there is getting lost in that state and/or creating unhealthy partitions within the mind.
