Talking to trees, tree spirits, trees are alive

There once lived a lovely & innocent tree in the backyard of a harsh & uninformed lady. The tree bloomed every spring and didn’t cause problems, but the woman would cut its branches and use them for poison and dark arts against enemies thus making it weaker in form over time. She had her needs but she didn’t give thanks or resolve to the large tree.

One day one of the tree’s heavy branches fell on the woman and killed her. Her family mourned & eventually moved on, but she insulted the tree by cutting and being disrespectful but never giving back or offering any sustenance to the tree even when it was ill.

Trees are alive. Science has confirmed this and plants make sounds when cut, but not to the level of confirming they have spirits or make decisions in a form for modern minds to accept. They ache and moan like humans, but in their own way. Many aren’t spoken to but can be spoken to.

What do they feel like? Eternity or in a larger sense. You can talk to them and feel them. They aren’t bad unless a human mistreats them by leaving and doing black magic and trash at their forefront. Why should they intake bad energies without agreement?

How to connect to trees:

Be open, pick up trash around them, quiet your mind and notice their details then speak to ask if they are open for contact.

Have no expectations. Some trees have told me no. They were too hurt by humans or too wise & advanced to tally with me. Respect their choice. Mentally transverse to feel them. Be quiet mentally but friendly. They do speak.

Once the mind, with little effort, is open and respectful, they speak. Meditate before. Some are jolly & some are very serious but still kind. Offer something. Recall “The Wishing Tree” book from childhood. They love humans who notice them unless you use them for bad. Normal.

Personal - What I don’t like:
People who harm trees by leaving trash especially when trash cans are nearby!!! Don’t do that as they are a different form and can’t move trash.

People who are arrogant and approach to ask for something or leave their spell work behind without saying a word to the tree. Would you like if someone did that to you? Ok. Don’t do that to them. Spirits can be in nature & become insulted. It’s not hard to be respectful.

Don’t make a tree absorb your things unless it agrees to. I can add more later but yes they are alive spiritually and they can (or spirits can) make people pay just like river and water spirits for disrespecting them.

They’re chill. Some are delighted when appreciated by noticing their form & characteristics THEN speaking. Keeping healthy plants allows one to connect better. This can be learned. Speak to plants even in your home. Plants can be grown from cheap seeds & have nourished mankind for ages. Palm trees as I mentioned are cool! Funny and whimsical.

Find the mother or hub tree which is larger than the other trees in a space or grove. Approach a tree in a group of trees after respecting the full group. Say hello then hone in on the tree that speaks to your spirit. If a tree feels unfriendly or bad step away. Someone has likely hurt it.

Although weird sounding, trees are honest, approachable, sincere, & can cheer you up on a bad day. They can be used for spell work but don’t force it without consent in their space.

Dark Magic Left at Trees:
Some spells call for leaving the remains below a tree. Yes a magi can do this but bury or leave it somewhere instead. They may read that burying the works beneath a tree gives more form, but the tree doesn’t forget.

We have (all or some) heard of Mother Nature being a force. Who the fuck are you to agitate it (her)?

Ancient and powerful trees:
Look at this New Orleans tree used by black slaves for various gatherings:

Do you think this tree deserves or will take disrespect? No. People leave offerings at its foot instead of trash. Disrespect a tree like this at your own expense. In past times they knew the forces of nature. Do not disrespect what you don’t control or understand. They can communicate for many miles like a network.

love this was so informational! I spoke to a tree once I basically hugged it really and mostly out of curiosity and it gave me a vision I also felt a sense of repairment energetically. I view nature very sacred too. if I ever take leafs or anything else I make sure to be grateful.

You sound very nice:) Another thing I have to mention since some speak of taking graveyard dirt or dirt from places is to give something in return.

Don’t just take dirt like from a graveyard or bank for getting money without giving something back. It doesn’t have to be grand of course. I was high then taken low by life & on my way back. Still I’d never take from a sacred site without giving something. You take you give.

Coins, liquor, better dirt or a flower. It doesn’t matter just go when they’re closed and give something when taking. Be wary in graveyards.

I’m so sad by people here who just say take and do whatever without giving and protection. Never look back when leaving. Every graveyard has a guardian. Why would you take dirt from them with nothing given?

People here mention things but don’t mention what’s needed. Research & don’t just take their word. So sad when this can hurt people. Graveyard & necromancy isn’t a first option.

This is not the place for advanced study or insights. If you want to get a girl or whatever look at yourself & attributes, Attraction in the opposite sex, etc & implementing suggestions before coming to magic is key. Shower often, get a nice hair cut, look good, cut calories, eat healthy, build muscle, etc. Magic isn’t the cure for everything.

If you do decide to go hard, prepare yourself & protect. What they don’t speak about here (lazy) is spiritual warfare when the wrong thing or energies are envoked. They always say do demon work but no expelling work. You’re left alone without researching deeply. Plz do.

This place is a disappointment. Horrible advice given routinely. One moderator said many trees are bad. No. They can help, but in general this community is EXTREMELY lacking. What’s helpful besides the bias against tree spirits? Garbage advice.

Where are people who are actually practicing? Doing rituals and findings? Don’t share biases if not rooted in experience. This place is severely lacking. Search YouTube & other sources. Don’t be misguided here.

Do you think coffee and tea (with no sugar) would be good offering?

Apparently tea and coffee help the soil and plants to grow. I refuse to live offering as cake, milk, cream… Directly to the soil.

Yes absolutely. Whatever you can give that doesn’t harm is great. That sounds very thoughtful. Have fun.

Somewhat related question: Once I was on a long walk and did a lot of unrelated magick, and then somehow started to feel that the trees :deciduous_tree: were in love :smiling_face_with_three_hearts:. I’m not usually sensitive to occult energies around me :pensive:, so this really surprised me. I was very much in love at that time, so one might think that I felt my own love, but I didn’t feel that the houses or the grass were in love, just the trees.

So I’m curious – does someone know anything about that? Do trees fall in love with other trees? Are trees in love with their tree spirits? I could easily imagine that tree spirits are to their trees like our guardian angels are to us :revolving_hearts:, but I don’t know of course…

I always had a feeling trees were alive, they fill me with energy and love. When I go outside along with the spirits and animals I also greet the trees through my mind.

What an awesome post, thank you!

To add a bit to the science part:
Trees, especially in a forest are indeed a network. They are mainly connected through insanely large fungal (mycorrhizal) networks. They seem to communicate through that network in symbiosis with the fungi. They exchange nutrients through that network between eachother and the fungi and the fungi also “hunt” for nutrients for the trees. They even communicate where nutrients should be distributed to, especialy in times of need. This is done on an interspecies level (like, for instance, the older spruces might give up nutrients for younger birches or even other plants in need etc.). Not all scientists agree on this, but if you wish to go into this rabbit hole. Just search for “mycorrhizal network”. You’ll be able to find tons of info.

This knowledge has added immensely to my notion of trees as sentient beings and spots of nature, like a forest, as not only an eco system, but a living community. I figured sharing it might do so for others as well

This is why i always felt like the all tree hugging new age trend was a bit over the top…

This network as you say create a huge amount of extra “chi” humans can benefit from. It’s also like being a huge social event where you learn to know the people (the trees) Being in the forest is as energizing as being a concert.

A hug is something intimate. You can benefit from being around people but a hug comes when you get really familiar with a particular person. Why would it be any different for a tree?

Yeah very true! I agree.
I do feel like hugging a tree is kinda forcing my energy on it (but that’s just a personal opinion). I like just touching it and sitting against one a little more and just take the time to see, hear and feel to get a sense of the energy of the spot.
