I don’t have a lot of experience about the kind of work a lot of you seem to do here. As a part of lurking here, I read a few books that came recommended, and decided to give one of them a little test. I picked Damon Brand’s Magickal Seduction as a place to start.
It has a fairly stripped-down style, was very short, and sounded like it could be fun.
I chose Ritual 1: Igniting Passion in Another, and started it today. It’s a 5-day ritual, and so should complete on Monday. My intention is to give daily updates in this thread.
Target Selection: given I’m fairly new and would probably have trouble not lusting for results given the topic, I settled on three criteria.
- Someone I wasn’t actively lusting over.
- Someone I’d like to have sex with.
- Someone I’d see soon enough to see any effect.
That made the new girl bartending at my favorite bar pop into my head. I’d known her before, and had a thing for her then, but while she remains physically attractive, my interest has become extremely tepid.
I could go and see her as I’m writing this, if I chose, but will likely skip going there until next week, after the ritual is completed. (Or more accurately, to complete the ritual. One final step happens the first time you see the target after completing the five repetitions.)
So, this afternoon I went through the first repetition ritual. Did I do great? Probably not. My visualizations were weaker than I’d like. I also couldn’t find a block of pyrite. I used to have a piece, but it’s gone missing. Instead I had a piece of blue marble that seemed like it would do the job.
Will I bang this chick? Who knows? I’d like to, but I won’t be broken up over it. I’ll be more disappointed I didn’t get the ritual to work than that I didn’t get the result I wanted. Which tells me I chose my target well for this purpose.

Day two.
Was able to do the ritual a little after lunchtime. (I work an oddly split schedule.) My pronunciations were better, my visualizations were… I don’t want to say worse, but they started fading at a certain point and so I closed the ritual out and went to do stuff.
I suppose the visualizations started more vivid and faded faster. I’m going to try a few things before tomorrow’s repetition.
Went and ran some errands, as suggested, right after closing the ritual. Got back in and did a fast three-card tarot pull about how the ritual was going: Lovers, Queen of Cups, Ace of Pentacles (Standard Waite-Smith deck.) Seems promising (QoC: fair woman. Target is blonde.)
More stuff to do to appear like a normal, functioning member of society. But I decided to skip going to my favorite bar until next week, after the ritual is done.
Talk to you about this tomorrow.

Day 3.
Had the day off, so was able to get through the ritual late morning, ate lunch, and did a few errands.
Much better ritual work on my part today. Visualizations were much better. More consistent, stronger. Realized I did part of the visualization almost automatically and decided to do it again, more intentionally (both with more intention and being while thinking to make sure I did it right) to really feel like I’d done the work.
All I’ve got right now is that I’m having fun doing this. If I get it right and a result comes, I’m going to have fun enjoying that result.
Day 4.
Several things happened on day four (yesterday, as I post this) which convinced me that either now was not the time, or this woman was not the correct target. I’m stopping this ritual and will reassess my situation.
I don’t want to get into too many details about what happened, but there were several small events, any one of which could be written off, but the sum total told me to re-evaluate.
Work today is mostly answering a few phone calls, and maybe a brief face-to-face. In downtime, I’ll be meditating.
Most likely I’ll pick this up at the new moon with a new target.
