So I decided to ask Lord Apollo a question about the Afterlife

Hey everyone, it has been QUITE a long time since I have posted here, but I have returned.

Recently, I have been having random fears of death and if what I believe of the afterlife is true (I think that when we die, we still maintain our personalities and memories, and that we are able to travel anywhere in the Astral and Spirit Realms.).

So, I decided that the best person to tell me the exact truth would be Lord Apollo, who is my patron deity and muse.

I took out my Apollo blessed Mythos Tarot Cards and asked/prayed this to him while shuffling: Lord Apollo, God of Truth, Music, and Healing. Lord Apollo, my divine patron, I seek wisdom and answers regarding the destination of the human soul. Please reveal the truth of what happens after this life, and help me discern if my understanding of the Astral Realms and afterlife is accurate.

After around 3-5 minutes of shuffling, these cards fell out:

1. The Three of Cups (The Graces)

This card represents celebration, community, and the shared joy of the spirit. It acts as a foundation for this reading. It strongly supports my belief that we retain our personality and memories. It implies that the “realm” I am describing is one of connection, where we are not solitary ghosts but continue to share in the “feast” of existence with those we loved. It validates the idea that life and death are not purely separated by an abyss, but are connected by ongoing resonance.

2. The Chariot (Apollo) – Reversed

The fact the Lord Apollo appears here is a strong indicator of his presence, imo. In the upright position, the Chariot is about control and victory; reversed, it suggests a lack of control, a detour, or a need to surrender the “driver’s seat.” This suggests that my human desire to understand the mechanics of the afterlife (to “steer” the knowledge) is encountering a barrier. The afterlife may be less of a structured “place” that can be mapped with human logic, and more of an experience that requires me to let go of the need for definitive answers. I realize that I am trying to use my earthly mind to solve a cosmic mystery, and Apollo is telling me to take your hands off the wheel for a moment.

3. Seven of Wands (Soteria) – Reversed

Soteria is the goddess of safety and deliverance. Reversed, this card speaks to feeling overwhelmed, or perhaps feeling the need to defend ones beliefs against doubt. It suggests that I may be experiencing some internal friction, I fear that my idea is too simple or that I am just “wishing” it into existence. This card urges me to stop fighting for the validity of my theory.

4. Two of Coins (Oceanus)

Oceanus represents the constant flux and the balancing of dualities. I believe that this is the core of my answer. The afterlife I am describing, one of wandering and exploration,is likely a “Yes, but…” situation. It suggests that my personal view of the afterlife as a place of freedom and exploration is accurate, but it is only one side of the coin. Reality is fluid; the spirit may move between states of active exploration, and states of rest or dissolution. It confirms to me that the afterlife is not static.

5. Ten of Cups (Naiads) – Reversed

The Ten of Cups represents ultimate emotional fulfillment and “happily ever after.” Reversed, it suggests that the “human” definition of a happy afterlife (reuniting with family, living in a perfect eternal home) might be a limited perspective. It implies that the reality is perhaps different than the idealized, cozy version we humans project. It isn’t necessarily “bad,” but it is likely more expansive, abstract, and perhaps more impersonal than the human ego prefers.

This reading definitely put my mind at ease, and I thought that I should share it here. Or at least document it online via posting it.
