Talking with a friend who is into hoodoo, we talked at length about shamanism, sacrifices, fashion and several other things about shamanism, and he took shamanism courses as well.
On sacrifices, its not so much a sacrifice as a person has to eat.
However, Moses and Aaron could be said to be shamans, ir even farther back from them, perhaps even Adam and Eve.
Just a thought. Every civilizatuon has such a person, no matter the title.
Due to sacrifice? Shamanism has quite a bit more to it than that to define a shaman.
