It started 3 days ago when I asked how my year is going to be. One of the cards was the king of swords. Yesterday I asked how today is going to be and guess what, another king of swords, and just now I asked if the food I’m eating is unhealthy and again I pulled the king of swords.
Is the universe trying to send me a bigger message or is it just coincidence?
Well, it depends on your deck but when we break down the King of Swords it roughly equates to mental breakthroughs, intellect, truth, and authority especially of that over knowledge.
Let me elaborate on breakthroughs- since it’s a King card associated with swords (which are air) we can infer that this will most likely be you finding a deeper meaning with something in your life and being able to hold power over it from these new perspectives. The reason I say it’s something you already have is because of it being a King card we should equate it to gaining control, whereas an Ace would be something new entirely.
So basically brace yourself for sudden truths and know your power. With us being between a lunar eclipse in Gemini and a solar eclipse in Sagitarrius I would definitely expect it to be something that you will need to hold power for or something that you will gain power from. Be sure to use your intuition and take a somewhat simplistic approach.
The fact that the King of Swords card keeps on repeating itself despite the different questions you’re asking’s more than enough sign IMO that:(1) yup, as I think you’re sensing already it is no coincidence and; (2) this repeating card has a specific message you might need to hear but not quite paying attention to ATM.
Why not try taking the KoS out of the deck and directly asking what it means, why it keeps showing up, what it wants to tell you, etc.? This is where using clarifying cards could prove useful and clear up what the KoS is really pertaining to in your case.
Have some thoughts about your card combination, but I’d like to know, if you don’t mind: what do you think/feel about those clarifying cards + KoS card?
The king of swords is a card of clarity. The devil talks about addiction or pleasures that harm you but you still do them and 3 of cups talks about independence and alone time.
Well I eat junk food because it’s tastey so I believe the devil card refers to that. I know it’s bad for me but I still do it because it’s just an awesome experience.
I’m mostly alone and it used to make me mad and/or sad but I’ve come to terms with it. I think the 3 or cups wants to tell me that on the outside it might look saddening but I’m actually growing stronger when with myself, and I think the universe is preparing me for someone. Thats why I undergo character development.
I know all these things but choose not to acknowledge them. Like with food, I love eating especially with company no matter how damaging it is (BTW I’m not morbidly obese or something lol) I know that being alone isn’t bad and actually good for me especially when looking at the people that surround me but I choose to only see the bad in it. Like I have one bad day and I just talk everything bad.
Your interpretation was actually fitting with the usual meanings + your situation. Especially what you intuited about The Devil card:
As for the 3 of Cups alone, I think your interpretation was interestingly different. May I ask what deck did you use? Because usually, the 3oC depicts three figures socializing and partying/drinking together. But I do see how you’ve come to the conclusion that it could refer to possibly spending alone time WHEN read with the other cards though, as The Devil + 3oC = could mean that as the KoS, it’s a reminder that you might have tendencies to indulge not only in food but in others’ company too much as well.
Well, in the spirit of the KoS lol, maybe I’ll just add possible interps for further clarity? The KoS clarified by the The Devil + 3oC could also be a reminder to improve your eating habits in a logical and BALANCED way. Part of what makes the KoS very intelligent is his ability to see the bigger picture and both sides of the situation as they truly are, as well as remain level-headed and solution-oriented while doing so. This tells me that instead of possibly turning to the, “Welp, gotta swear off all unhealthy/junk food now and change it all up!” route, learn to eat smart instead (KoS), come up with a balanced diet you know that is suitable for you (also KoS), as opposed to completely cutting off eating junk food, which could prove to be an excessive and unhealthy habit in itself as you restrict yourself more than necessary (The Devil), especially since you said that you’re not obese/having problems with it or anything. Being conscious of yourself (KoS) and your health is good, but at the same time, remember not to overdo it to the point that you limit yourself from having some of those well-deserved chips/drinks every now and then (The Devil + 3 of Cups). IME also, if you needed to completely cut off something (or someone!) and kick 'em to the curb, the Queen of Swords would usually show up rather than the King.
Another interp here could possibly be the opposite of what you said for the 3oC. In fact, this is the first intuitive guess I got while reading your response, but of course feel free to discard if it doesn’t resonate. The KoS clarified by The Devil + 3oC = a reminder that it’s okay to spend time with people, get to know those around you a bit more, interact and let yourself have fun while doing so. While the KoS often gets a rep for being the “cold/strict/intellectual introvert”, don’t forget that in his upright position, he could also stand for a person who is a very great communicator fond of discussing and sparking ideas/knowledge to others so they, in turn, could also think for themselves and see the bigger picture/vision to situations/life in general. I’ve had this come up a lot to represent both myself and previous professors, and the situations all involved conducting lectures and leading fun intellectual activities with groups of people. In your case, with The Devil + 3oC + these statements of yours:
These could mean that you might need to try clearly looking at the people around you, without the possible biases, fears and all the other stuff that is contributing to you only seeing the “bad” in people. Not saying be an eternal optimist or anything, but humans have always been social creatures and the KoS upright, instead of rejecting or dismissing someone, would recognize such and instead see both/all sides to a person. The Devil also isn’t automatically bad, and paired with the 3 of Cups, could simply mean that it’s a time for you to step out of your comfort zone (The Devil could also be about taking that gamble/risk) ,free yourself from self-imposed chains/limitations and try to genuinely interact with even just two or three people (the 3oC is usually a small group anyway). The KoS in this case also seems to be telling me that you may also gain further clarity about yourself by extending yourself to others through really seeing and listening how other people think, understanding others’ perspectives and allowing yourself to exchange ideas, opinions and communication in general with those around you.
Lastly, I could also see The Devil + 3oC simply referring to the festivities/this holiday season, and how you can maybe enjoy yourself while still setting proper boundaries and such (KoS).
It’s a very powerful card, it might be the seeker if He is born in an earth sign. If not it can be a judge, a lawyer, a doctor, a powerful man, someone in high position. The other cards around will tell you what exactly that is. Can be even a lover maybe a couple of years elder or a Business man.
A very Swords-y response lol. Do feel free to update us/this thread what the recurring KoS came to mean for you. Aside from curiosity, I also find it quite interesting that you mentioned in another thread how King Belial, who is known for helping people overcome their limitations and all the Devil card interps provided, might be your guardian demon. Best of luck to working with him, OP!
