So in the Chapter titled Emissaries of Ascent in Evoking Eternity, it presents an angelic, demonic, and elemental path working. So my question is, to your best judgement, is the intention for you to do all three in order? Alternatively is the intention to pick one of the three?
My second question applies to these path workings but also could apply to any path working of entities. When you’re path working a group of spirits, what request are you making when you evoke them? I realize that it would probably be different for different people, but I would appreciate an example. Now in this path working he gives specific instructions for some of the spirits but not all of them, so for the less specific entries and general path working I want to know what you say to spirits when you call them.
I believe EA’s intention with Evoking Eternity was to present the art of evocation outside of any specific theology or paradigm so in reference to the different pathworkings, I think he was simply presenting several options for anyone who wanted to pursue personal Ascension. It’s your choice if you want to follow only one of them or all three. They each represent different perspectives.
EA tells you what you should ask of them but in the ones where he doesn’t, it is basically up to you and the spirit. For example, with Belial in the demonic pathworking, it says that you are to confer with him on the powers of godhood you wish to obtain, which would be different for everyone.
Generally, you and the spirit will discuss what is required. When you summon them you would ask for their aid in your Ascent and then the spirit will likely ask you questions to clarify what exactly it is you want to accomplish. While it’s good to have an idea of what you want before the summoning, it can also be helpful to flesh things out together with the spirit within the evocation itself.
So far, I’ve only done the angelic pathworking, but I was told to stop after only evoking the first three angels.
