How might a person do psychopomp work?

(Iâve splt your reply because I didnât want to take this too far off-topic from S. Connelly, but wanted to reply in full.)
The way I was taught came from core shamanism (CS), so to give a quick overview, you enter a light trance state by lying down., listening (ideally) to some drumming at a specific beat - there are plenty of âshamanic drummingâ vids on YouTube for an example.
You visualise, or structure, a tree - this is the interface into the three distinct realms CS deals with, and those are usually called the Lower, Middle, and Upper Worlds, although there are many branches and levels of all three.
But those will all partake of the overall quality of the World - the Lower world usually has earthy, animal-related, and natural spirits, sometimes spirits relating to oneâs own Death, and itâs the first World most people are taught to visit - itâs where you find your animal spirit helper or âPower Animalâ (a silly phrase butb itâs the one most used in that paradigm).
The Upper World has enlightened masters (some of them, gbtw spectacularly useless and out-of-touch in my experience) and gods, angels, Higher Selves of people and individual animals, all kinds.
The realm of the dead who are troubled is normally entered via the Middle World - this is the last World students are usually taught as itâs the parallel to our own, and therefore has a lot of troubled, lost, damaging entities and so on, and also the spirits of the diseases, madnesses, addictions and hatreds that afflict the everyday world.
Itâs not something I feel able to teach right now online, however Iâve been working with BunĂ© a lot recently (seach my posts for all the raving Iâve done about my Lady, if youâre curious) and she is interested in creating a method I can teach, safely, online that will be hosted and mentored by one of her familiars.
This IS however a tricky project, and Iâm also up to my ears in both everyday and magickal stuff, so please be patient!!
Anyway to get back to basics, what you do in CS is enter the realm and find the spirit of the troubled dead person, they often appear monstrous or faded, or in all sorts of messed up states, and heal them using various methoids taught in CS, then the bit where some people struggle is, you need to open a portal, the CORRECT portal, for them to pass into - opening the wrong portal is a bad idea (understatement there) and sometimes other spirits who vampirically prey upon these people will try to mess with you, itâs a bag of tricks if youâre not knowleddeable and powerful enough to cope.
This portal you open after theyâre healed is where one often sees their own deceased ancestors and so on, and most people are only too happy to enter once their fears and pain have been healed, and they see dear old mum waiting at the gate! 
Itâs truly moving, and one of the most emotionally satisfying types of healing work, since the dead are usually in genuine need and are ready and willing to change, and they donât go and fuck it all up next week, unlike humans.
Iâve escorted some of my own family, immediate and distant, and I recommend learning this method to anyone whoâs interested in necromancy, not least because youâll realise that some of the dead are actual PEOPLE (necromancers often insist theyâre just a shade, a mindless thing, but this has not been my experience, nor that of other psychopomps Iâve met - although such empty shells do also exist).
Itâll also teach you more than words can do of how the afterlife works, what can go wrong (and what can go right, if you donât wish for dissolution of your personality after death) and so on.
Finally, through this method one can accrue a kind of power, and the goodwill of certain entities, which mean youâre better able to communicate with your own loved ones after death, so there are many good reasons for studying it!

Thatâs interesting, I have been interested in Shamanic work for quite some time and doing some basic journeying I have found my spirit/totem animal to be a grizzly bear. Heâs helping me learn how to be a better healer.

Youâre welcome - itâs seen as being a bit of a softer topic compared to summoning demons and shooting bolts of death majix out your fingers etc., but to me it provides a familiarity with ALL the levels of human existence, along with the absolute personal certainty that death is a change of state and not the end of all consciousness - you get proof of this when someone tells you stuff that you couldnât have known and you discover it was true.
And itâs no more âaltruistic,â in the sense many of us shy away from, than creating an awesome product and selling it for cash - youâre providing a service that meets a crying need, and the rewards that come back to you are awesome.

For example, all Runes are Death Runes⊠as they are tools of change. Even though I have yet to Master everything, you can count me as a Kid with a Loaded 50 caliber handgun⊠I AM The Master of Majix. lol =) Likewise, there are different levels of MasteryâŠbecoming a Master doesnât denote Mastery as it is only the beginning.

Cool, bear with me on my bit - got my hands full right now with some very personal work and also mundane (but good) things that are taking almost all my free time, but I am putting together a system with BunĂ© that will cover both psychopomp & ancestral work, and I will only hold off from giving an exact time-frame because things are so crazy I canât say for sure when it will happen!

without concrete psychic/medium ability so I thought I should share.

I also added my latest understanding of soul trap:
'I heard the grid, soul trap, now has a big hole,

if you want to by your will, with full memory of all your life before,
