Protection when evoking

Hello. I want to attempt to evoke a demon. I already talked with people around here and feel much more comfortable about this and even meditated and stuff. I will be trying the method presented in Gordon Winterfield’s Demons of Magick book in which he says it’s beginner friendly and designed with safety in mind. However, I’ve been reading around the internet and almost 80% of people suggest protection like drawing circles and using all kinds of stuff when it comes to this subject and that got me thinking. Can you please suggest some reading material regarding the topic of protection? I have good intentions and want to get this right

Don’t use a circle. You"ll be fine without it.

I concur with @chi

A circle does not provide you with protection, so much as it separates what is your normal reality from what is your “magical” reality., and is simply the place where you become God.

If you read the book , Gordon already tells us about many protection rituals, like The Lesser Banishing Ritual of The Pentagram …

with his words…

“I am aware that if you are already experienced with this magick you may feel a strong connection to The Lesser Banishing Ritual of The Pentagram (written as LBRP for the remainder of this book), and you may think that leaving out The Bornless Ritual is madness. If so, I am not sure why you are reading this book, but you can add in whatever additional methods you wish. They are not required, and I cannot predict exactly how they will mesh with mywork, but they are certainly not forbidden. If you are new to magick, or open to working with a new method, what you find in this chapter will serve you well

This is exactly what he says and he is right, so instead of confusing yourself more and more that’s a real possibility- you may begin magick at once; be sure that you will not be the first who tried his ways.

Also one last thing expect good things, and good things will happen. This sentence I first read in that forum first and it was really useful to me.
