I was young and inexperienced. It was a bad drought that summer and I decided to take it in my own hands to make it rain. Based on a few methods that my Native American friends mentioned, I went to work. I walked in a clockwise circle where I wanted it to rain as I held a charged stone in each hand. It rained shortly thereafter. My big mistake was that I did not ask permission of any gods and I did not make any offerings. I apparently angered Tlaloc who is the Aztec God of rain. He sent a chacmool to torment me for a couple of years until a fellow practitioner noticed the chacmool and told me how to contact Tlaloc. The ritual was dirt simple and required an earthen bowl, freshly dug dirt, and water. I made the offering, begged forgiveness, and was released from torment. It was a hard lesson, but a good one to learn.
