My introduction [looking for demonologist companions]

hello, my name is caleb and i am very excited to join this forum. i am from florida and i am 19. i have been practicing witchcraft for about two years, with a special focus on crystals and divination, and after about a year break i have decided to pick up my cards and jump back into my practice.

i am drawn to this forum as i have recently gained a special interest in demonolatry. i do believe that beelzebub has called out to me, and i am all too excited to answer the call- however, i do fear rushing into things, as i have never done any sort of worship in my practice nor do i have much knowledge on demons. thats why i am here. i am looking forward to making connections with you all.

my experience with beelzebub, for those who are curious: at the height of my tarot obsession (around a year ago) i picked up a copy of travis mchenrys “occult tarot” with the intent to use it as a normal deck. i was unaware the deck was intended for demon work, and once i knew, i was admittedly too scared to use it. it was until a few days ago i actually flipped through the deck and really sat with it. this same day, i am walking around my home and find a dead wasp on the floor- perfectly preserved (as an aspiring entomologist, this was a delightful gift.) i do believe this may have been a sign from beelzebub. since then, i have quickly gained a fixation on him. i dont necessarily have anything i want to ask him for, but the thought of his presence has been comforting to me. i want to reach out to him, but properly and respectfully.

thank you again to all those who read this, it is nice to meet you all

Welcome @anythinggoes

Do you practice a specific tradition or system?

hi! thank you! the closest i could relate my practice to would probably be a vein of neo-paganism, but i have been pretty loose about my craft. i have done a few spells, i follow the wiccan rede, have had most of my focus on divination with my higher self (with tarot in specific).
(edited for clarity)

In terms of demonology, do you practise the Solomonic system? Or do you practise a different form?

admittedly, im not sure yet! currently i am in my research phase, so if you have any sources you could recommend about the different types of demonology i would be happy to take them!

The key sources I would look at from someone practising an adapted form of Solomonic magick, would be the Lesser Key of Solomon.

Depending on how you view demons. To me, demons are the shadow-self. They are the parts we repress. All the negative emotions and all the negative things we don’t show others.

When we conjure the 72 demons of Solomon for instance in Crowley’s version he specifies “the 72 demons of Solomon are aspects of ones mind”, for the first time, it should be a confrontation/conference between you, and the entity you conjure. You ask questions about the self and what I do on top of that, is ask to unlock the portion of the mind they’re associated with.

After your conference with the entity, you should bind the entity to your “brass vessel” so to speak. Some people say you don’t have to bind them but then we go from demonology to a system of demonolatry.

Once you’ve bound the entity/ies, that’s where the real work can begin. You must understand yourself before you can begin manifesting results, “do what thou wilt” so to speak.

In my adapted Solomonic system, I don’t see the 72 as my enemies but merely, a form of negative energy that gets redirected to a more positive energy after binding.

Its like a martial art. One to be respected. Alternatively, its like owning a pet snake or a pet spider. The more fear you show, the more they can sense and feel that energy.

If all you see is fear and darkness, then likewise, all you’ll get out of the demons is a fear-based projection of their energy.

My method is adapted from both the lesser key and from what my master taught me. Most of all, what I can say is first develop your psychic senses and always have protection around-be it a magick circle, runes or sigils.

oh this is so incredibly helpful, genuinely thank you so so much. i will be keeping this in mind as i start to delve into this chapter of my craft. even just taking a quick one over of the lesser key of solomon i can see this is exactly the type of resource i was looking for, and your insight will be very helpful as i start getting my grounds in this. i am grateful!

as of now i cant say i fear demons, but am more-so comforted by their presence and the prospect of working with them (i hope thats not too LARP-y to say, haha). i also actually do own spiders as pets, so maybe i am cut out for this :-]

thank you again!

Ah nah it doesn’t sound LARPy at all.

In a way of sounding cheesy to quote hellraiser,

“You opened the box. We came. Demons to some. Angels to others.”

Mentioning Spiders, from experience with King Bael, Spirit 1 of the Goetia, he actually often depicted himself as a spider in my workings with him. A spider on the eastern wall of my room, wearing a crown. You dont have to start binding with Bael. I didn’t. I started with Paimon because he was one of the first I conjured without binding(a rookie mistake on my part. We had an agreement though but this is also why I bind. The agreement was in teaching me philosophy, his sigil would remain on my altar so all in all not a bad agreement), followed by Shax because Shax was essentially my boogeyman. I was afraid he’d take my.sight away but that’s not actually what it means.

You gotta read between the lines sometimes. What it meant for me in terms of losing my sight was more, I lost sight of who I was. I lost that because I was blinded by the idea a romantic partner would complete me.

Bare in mind, Shax is a tricky spirit to work with especially in the Solomonic method. You have to force him into the triangle to give you honest and true answers otherwise he’ll lie to you.

Speaking from experience, when I conjured him for binding, I put his sigil in the triangle before conjuring and all I heard was a loud and boisterous “NO!” and so I had to use the greater chain on him and he reluctantly accepted. That being said, after binding, hes actually become one of my advisors.

A couple of the spirits will be rebellious and as such, you have to use the greater chain.

I’ll also add, you must burn their sigils after the operation is complete.

hey! apologies for my late response. your experience with Shax is very insightful, i am happy you were able to find a way to comfortably call upon him :].

for what you said about Bael, i find this incredibly intriguing. arent Bael and Beelzebuth connected in some way? i have been getting conflicting information on this additionally, but since our last chat i have been diving headfirst into research.

and the bit about burning sigils is important info! thank you so much! as of now i have been meditating with Beelzebuth in mind to try and maybe understand him more and how i can better connect with him.

That much I’m not aware of. You can always ask Bael or Beezlebub if theu are connected. Personally,I believe their all connected in the hierarchical sense. Every demon has a position of power upon which we give terms like Prince, King, Duke, Marquis, President etc.

Some are connected. Asmodeus is connected to Amaymon for instance and Paimon answers to Lucifer.
