My Compendium of Gods and Goddesses

My Compendium of God’s and Goddesses.

In the meantime, I am starting with representations, symbols associated with Creator Gods and Goddesses.

Then as Earth was the playground with creation of deities, with their consort or spouse, and their method of creation, we will concentrate on Earth elements in Earth, and the deities under those elements.

What we’re looking at is not a mythology, but rather cross cultural accounts (or ideas in parallel), and then we focus on the uncommon.

We’ll start with Egypt and Mesopotamia, as these were cultures way advanced than Israel, and several cultures existed post world flood before Israel was a thought let alone written alphabet.

Clay and symbol were the first alphabet and method of writing with these preexisting cultures.

These cultures were Hunter-Gatherer and Animal Husbandry.

While not necessarily a god, a symbol comes to mind for the monad-a symbol both abstract and one for absolute creation.

Amun is a good start for creation gods of Egypt as well as I think Aten. Amun is “the unseen one” I can’t really think og symbols for them other than their actual depictions.

Good info, Ptah I’ve always seen as the creator God of Egypt personally, who created with a word. The quote on Aten/Amun is interesting as well, the unseen one. It will be interesting to see how this unravels. At this point in time I suspect continental drift had already occurred. Also at this point in time, large ships we’re non existent save Noah’s Ark and similar accounts of this large ship.

I’ve always wondered if Amun is also Amon from the Lesser Key.

It’s argued and debated-some say he is, other’s say he was the god of the Carthaginians “Ba’al Hammon”

So in the process of life and beliefs in life, one belief is that not of evolution, but rather that of creation.

By motif of gods, there is a preexisting God, or first cause. That is, how as an example the process created leading to the big bang and therefore evolution.

In Egyptian, there are as a minimum, six gods. There is generally a spouse, a method of creation, and offspring. Ra (spouse is Hathor), or Amun-Ra, Amun (spouse if Amunet), Aten, Atum, Neith (F) and Ptah.

By Ra, Sol; by Aten, Sol; by Amun, Transcendent; by Ptah, Word; by Neith, her loom, and by Atum, his semen.

The offspring are various, and there will be different gods in a downward direction and zig zag down the tree of life, other gods and goddesses as the offspring.

There are too many civilizations to fit into one post, save the names of the civilizations, and perhaps their Creator Deities. Since I’ve laid out the Egyptian Creator Deities, I will go from there tomorrow to fit in the Tree of Life, who might inhabit the sphere, and information on them. However, I think Earth Deities should come first, and among the elements of Earth. Geb would be one among the Earth Deities.

There is also Khnum, the Creator aspect of Ra. He is said to have formed humans out of clay on his potter’s wheel.

Geb is called the Earth Father (and Father of Snakes), while his consort (one of them) is Nut, the Sky Mother.

Gebs consorts are Nut, Tefnut and Renenutet. Now while we say consort, consort is not necessarily a sexual partner or spouse. His offspring are Osiris, Set, Isis, Nephthys, and Horus the Elder.

Gebs laughter produces earthquakes and he allows crops to grow. His colors are Blue, White, and Gold. A bird, possibly a goose, sits stop his head. His right hand holds a staff, while his right hand holds an ankh. His symbols are barley, goose, viper, and bull. His parents are Shu and Tefnut. His sibling is Nut. His associations are: Chthonic deities, the underworld, fresh Waters, vegetation, barley, green plants, healing, royalty, rulership, goose eggs, geese, crocodiles.

Malkuth, the Earth and it’s four elements of Earth. This would be the habitation of Geb.

Thank you @Star-Seeker and @Mani

Now that we have talked about the Earth Father and the Creator Gods, we will briefly touch on the Sky Mother and then the gods associated with the elements. After that we will move on to the sphere of Yesod and the goddess of the Moon.

I seem to have suffered a mild diabetic condition, or a mild stroke this morning.

I may or may not be doing any work today.

Looking at my sheet of notes on Creator Deities, and god of Earth and goddess of sky.

There were in Ancient Egypt, six Creator Deities. Amun, Aten, Atum, Neith, Ptah, and Ra.

Nut is one of the Sky Mother deities, and a consort of the God of Earth and Father of Snakes, Geb.

When looking at deities and comparing to level of Tree of Life, it can get messy, so here is a tip, on structure:

Deity name, role, parents, consort, siblings, offspring, method, items carried or worn, and associations.

Now, onto research on Nut, the Sky mother and consort of Geb.

In addition to the hymn for Nut, I am about to do the same sort of research and write up on Ra, the Sun God, then one for the Moon Goddess. Then I will tackle the elements of Earth.

A hymn to Nut:

“O my Mother Nut, stretch Yourself over me, that I may be placed among the imperishable stars which are in You, and that I may not die."

“I am Nut, and I have come so that I may enfold and protect you from all things evil.”

Out of roughly 1,500 deities, Ra and his names are but one. Out of Heliopolis, Ra was born, and the city bears a close likeness to another solar deity, Helios. This polytheistic order lasted 3,500 years. Aten condensed the pantheon, and all deities became Aten. Yet all names and images awakened and reawaken all powers. Currently, for the purpose of his name, Ra lives on under Aten-Ra, even Amun-Ra.

A reason why Liber Resh Vel Helios or other hymns to Ra, done regularly, produces a tangible reward. Perhaps not necessarily material, but certainly spiritual. These adorations done in the spam of every six hours, follows the path of the sun, East to East, in the pattern of Ra.

More on Ra to come as it’s finished from writing to data entry.

Then Moon Goddess, namely Isis, and others and finally element deities.

This journal is meant to follow the pattern of the Tree of Life as per my assignment, later I will produce as many deities as possible in either chronological or alphabetic order.

Hathor, the sky Deity, and the guide for the barque, or ship of Ra, shall be the initial work for today, and then the lunar Deities to follow.

Deity name: Hathor, ancient Egyptian hwt-hr.

Role: Sky Goddess, Lunar Goddess, Cow Goddess, Solar Goddess, Goddess of Sensory life pleasures. Goddess of Music and Dance.

Parents: Ptah, Ra, Horus, Atum, Amun, Khonsu.

Consort: Geb, Ra.

Siblings: Geb.

Offspring: According to the subtle morphing onto Isis, Horus as a main offspring. Ihy, Neferhotep of Hu, Horus, Ra (although a lunar deity, she is also a solar deity, and gives birth to Ra’s next traversal around the world.

Creation Method: As a Cow Goddess, bills and cows were sacrificed and buried North of Memphis. Word of Hu.

Items carried or worn: Ankh, Staff, Horned Lunar headress with a Cobra in top front.

Notes or Associations: Worshipped in Demdera and in Memphis. Cattle sacrificed were buried North of Memphis. Eventually becomes Isis, and therefore her in Yesod makes sense.

Back to working on this today.
