Lucid Dreaming But Not Really in Control?: My Experience

I recently repeated some lucid dreaming affirmations before I dozed off to sleep. I consider two of these few nights successful as I remember being aware I was dreaming during them but… after I woke up, I didn’t feel like I was truly in control because I followed the stories (obeyed the rules) of each dream. However, I consider these dreams as progress!

Has anyone else had similar experiences? Btw, Imma add the journal ingredient to this interesting thread before I finish cooking!

But maybe… I was dreaming that I was lucid dreaming big gasp!

Hi Jack_of_Tridents

What affirmations did you use? some made by yourself or from some YT video?

Made by myself. Actually I was thinking about trying out lucid dreaming subliminals. I want to try all the tricks in the book.

1/24-1/25:
I had no sucess last night and the night before when I got back into this. I used my own affirmations which were like “this is a dream, I can do anything and create anything.” Prior to that was “I am luid dreaming” and “I’m having a lucid dream,” which caused me to have these “pseudo-lucid” dreams where I had awareness but I followed to the rules and boundaries.

I feel that saying “I can” evokes the notion of having a choice and free will. “I am”, on the contrary, only refers to a scripted experience.

I look forward to the many nights to come!
