This is very true. Any resource, no matter how reliable, is still just a guideline. There is no substitute for actually handling and working with it.

Cunningham’s Crystal, Gem and Metal Magick is a decent guideline, the only drawback being it is older and does not include some more recent or exotic stones.

Spirit-wise, there is nobody quite like Stolas to connect with if you are going to delve into the natural mysteries. He can promote insight not just into the stones, but also how each fits in the big picture, physically and energetically. Just don’t expect much in the way of conversation.
