Bravo, you’re right that is exactly what this 16th century book of demons was, using Solomon as a metaphor to keep and document these demons and thought forms that were created by various magicians throughout time.
If you read the mythology of Solomon, you would know that he was given a ring (known as the Seal of Solomon) by God, that granted him the authority over the 72 rebellious spirits of what we popularly call the Goetia, and the knowledge of how to use it.
In other words, God gave him his power because, when God asked him what he wanted as a boon for his faithful service, he responded by asking for the wisdom to serve his people rather than anything material.
Depending on which version you read, he eventually lost his magical abilities when he grew too big for his britches, and began to believe the power came from him, and not God.

Interesting mate, I’m full Christian and would like to play it safe. Not that it will look like I’m worshipping demons so I stopped for now until I know I can worship god and learn how to subjugate demons.

Learn traditional Solomonic magick then. Work the Lesser Key as it is written, with the conjurations and abjurations, and blasting rods, all the stuff modern magicians like to remove from the system.

My way of seeing this is basically angels are beings that can choose to work with you. I work with all kinds of being of more shadow to light and everything in between.
There is tuns and tuns of stuff around about angels. But if you want to know of something of them that is hard to find just ask them! They will teach you stuff trust me including language. But just like majority of beings they have multiple areas of the world with equal importance just in a different form. So it’s also down to what area are you wanting to study. There’s the more Christian version to Muslim to Jewish and even more ancient middle eastern stuff. They have showed more of their true talents of these days then back then in ways in my opinion. It also goes back to what your beliefs are when it comes to angels. Who do you believe they are and are like. The more you limit your own view the more limit they come to you. Like I never knew there was a Archangel Ariel until some years ago also did not know Archangel Ariel not only nature based angel but also one of prosperity? So for me I try and not limit to much.

It’s complicated but read your Bible dude. First off the Jewish faith had many variants, it started out as a polytheistic religion then became henotheistic then after the Babylonian exile became monotheistic. Also it’s well documented that Solomon built temples honoring the gods of his foreign wives, let that sink in.
The Ars Goetia is a renneasance era compilation of much older documents which all come from much older beliefs rearranged to fit the consensus of the era.
