So, I took a moment and. Broke down the name Solomon. Sol=Sun… I remember that Azazel is the dark core of the sun and taught humanity the art of war and making of weapons. And sub gazing rips open the third eye… I have been wondering…
Could King Solomon have been Azazel in the flesh? It is making more and more sense the more I look at it.
Sol is Latin, Solomon is Hebrew, the etymology doesn’t connect.
Solomon’s original name in Hebrew is שְׁלֹמֹה which is transliterated as “Shelomo”, his name is derived from the Hebrew root שלם which means to make something whole or complete.
When the Old Testament was translated into Greek, hid Hebrew name was translated three different ways: Σαλωμων (Sah-low-mown), Σαλομων (Sah-law-mown), and Σολομων (Saw-law-mon).
The common form in English originally was the first transliteration, for a very long time he was called Salomon in English. We switched to the third transliteration, Solomon, sometime in the mid-sixteenth century.
While I’m at it, Azazel, in the Hebrew is עֲזָאזֵל which is transliterated, “Etzatzal”. It’s a combination of two Hebrew words put together. עֵז, “Etz”, which means goat, and אָזַל, “Atzal”, which means to go.
Solomon and Azazel, couldn’t be farther from similar to each other.

So Micheal Fords assertion that AZ AZ El comes from “Strong god” ( I think Az means “strong” in arabic, and El (as in god, or of god) is likely some faulty etymology it seems huh. Interesting, thanks for noting that.
Yes, since the Arabian language did not possess “el” as a ward meaning god, it can’t have Arabic roots. The Arabic Azazil, is a transliteration of Etzatzal.
Just the TITLE of this (no offense meant to the OP!) was like fingernails down a blackboard to me!
NO!!
That cunt (I used that term advisedly, for an abuse of female capability) is NOT Azazel.
I would bet my bottom dollar or whatever on it.
But asking questions isn’t bad, however look at effects and Azazel’s freeing of mankind, versus that CUNT’s trapping of supposedly “demons” etc, and their respective lore.

So, on that note I have noticed something with Solomon’s magick… It advises threats and enslavement of demons… Isn’t that kind of am idiotic notion? I mean if a magician bonds with an entity and builds a friendship, isn’t that more productive than trying to break something that might just eat you because it can? Why go there?
You can catch more flies with honey than vinegar, so the saying goes. That is the difference between demonolatry and traditional ritual summoning of demons.
when a man ascends to become a god or deity of some kind there is a shadow left behind. this is what is referred to as the demon seed. Azazel is the demon seed of a long since ascended master magician. his name was Enoch. (notice what book of the bible Azazel is mentioned) Enoch ascended to become the Seraphim/Archangel Metatron. this was only possible because he left parts of his psyche inside Azazel. its a long and complex practice that is to be done over the course of one’s life, but its a beautiful part of the science and needs to be looked into.
While I refuse to work traditional Solomonic magic due to its treatments of demons, I will note that historically it is not uncommon to bind, coerce, and otherwise threaten a spirit directly or through its superiors. Wether it be a daimon, phantom or even a god. This treatment of the spirits is part of what links Western Euro magic to the older goetic traditions of Greece, and Hellenized Egypt. And given the Christian nature and world view of such grimoires, demons being threatened is not very surprising (Now due to modern black magic demons are taking on a much different cultural context, and I understand that a lot of people hate the idea of using the Christian god to dominate a pagan god.) But taking yah out of the picture, it was not uncommon for the Hellenic pagans to bind their gods through force. A magicians power in antiquity was often linked to his ability to compel, not to cooperate.
That’s like saying “hey why did we domesticate wolves?”
It isn’t about cooperation. It’s about getting a lifeform you perceive to be lesser, to work with you. It is about control.
I mean if a magician bonds with an entity and builds a friendship, isn't that more productive than trying to break something that might just eat you because it can?
Not necessarily. We men forget sometimes that not all beings have the same mechanisms of thought as we do, and for some partnership is division and division is partnership. Why work with something when you can own that something?
Just because the Goetics/Westernized demons are friendly to an individual’s goals of power, does not mean they are friendly to them, or hold their best interests at heart.
Never mistake a paid correspondent or consultant, for an ally. That is not to say such beings cannot exist, or don’t, however, we have a hard time distinguishing the difference in relationships.
I would wager that the Goetics like humans, and are thus more likely to treat them amicably. Those that have tended man’s flame for eons usually end up that way.
Then compare them to the Carrion, who would just as soon as kill you as you summon. Not that anyone who’d want their head attached to their shoulders would dare to summon them, anyway.
Just because you shouldn’t go kidnapping your friends and beating them for fun, doesn’t mean the methodologies don’t have a place.
Why don’t you try it on a living, breathing, sack-of-shit human?

This may seem like a daft thing to say, but what/who is the Carrion?
The issue I have personally with Solomonic magick is that it seems to limit the spirit’s expression to mainly malevolent or harmful forms.
This is something seen very clearly in the, mostly confrontational and angsty, conversations Imperial Arts has with spirits like Buné, who I have found very loving and benevolent, but he went in using that paradigm and didn’t therefore make a friend, or even open up a communication that could lead to greater understanding.
It seems that the SM method only gives people access to a specific mask or form, when followed with devotion and trust in its precepts - that form being comprised of the spirit + some aspect of the darker side of the magician.
So, rather than being a “living god” using that divine power to call forth beings from other planes, the person becomes a polarised aspect of their own divinity, one for whom mindless slavery and fear are paramount virtues, and injects a lot of their own “darker” aspects into the spirit as a result.
That’s one of the reasons I take such exception to it, and it has been the main format practiced with these spirits for a very long time… I think they’re not dreadfully happy about it by now.
It must be basically like having a conversation with an SJW (which does after all stem from the same sick roots) where you know that anything you say, they’re parsing in their own minds into proof you’re a racist/misogynist/stupid prick, and completely innocent things you say, do, or even wear are being seen through a heavy lens of your innate evil and idiocy (which they have convinced themselves of).
It grates on humans, and we’ve only had it rise to prominence in the last few years as a mass-phenom - imagine being a LITERAL god, and having centuries of this, and of the mask under which you’re called becoming the part of you that begins to have the greatest hold on the popular imagination of the masses!
… it’s a miracle they even have time for humans at all! O_o
