Hmmmm- seemed to have opened a can of worms here. I do not speak Hebrew but appreciate the translations. When you paranthesised (Satan) was that your own doing or is that part of the texts.
Because I said that was my own personal translation from the Hebrew, that is, I wasn’t quoting from a traditional bible. I was certain you would’ve ascertained that the parenthesis were alternative translations.
I realize your going back to roots here but speaking from a judeo-Christian perspective I realize the Zoroastrianism connection. However I’m not as familiar with it so leaned topic more towards the " traditional" judeo Christian context.[/quotes]
So, Christianity doesn’t exist without the Zoroastrian influence on Judaism. Original Judaism didn’t have any doctrine about the end of the world; it didn’t possess the idea of a Messiah (Gk: Christ); it didn’t even have a proper after life, everyone was either punished in this life or they somehow beat the system. These are all beliefs that were brought into Judaism from Zoroastrianism. And Christianity is a religion which believes that Jesus is the Messiah (Gk: the Christ) of Judaism. But, this is a Zoroastrian influence. When you say Judeo-Christian you necessitate the need to talk about the Zoroastrian influence on Judaism.
Well, Satan was a single entity, but originally it was a title, not a name, and it was an angel, not a fallen opposition to YHWH.
So I’ve opened the can of worms now to catch then and go fishing- based on the preceding quote one may almost take that as saying Satan is a single entity Samael.
I meant that in Talmudic Judaism Samael was seen as the accusing angel.
This is all hypothetical and sarcastic but if “God or YWEH” is omnipresent why the fuck does he need an “accuser” after all he is omnipresent. Also the story of Job is one of my favorites- " sure go fuck with someone who loves and worships me to prove a point to a “lesser” being. Typical. Also are we implying here that lucifer is an insignificant figure here?
Lucifer is not in the Bible. He is the Roman name of the Greek God Heosophoros, God of the Morning Star.
So, I have a question for the community at large. Are some of the spirits that people contact or evoke thoughtforms? That is, they were (quite literally) created because people began thinking about them. One of the reasons I ask this is because many people here seem to be contacting Lucifer and Satan (some people make those names into two different entities) but the basis for naming these beings comes from Christianity. But these names are actually a mistranslation of the ancient Hebrew.
Lucife…
It was one of my first posts where I went over the Hebrew and showed that Lucifer is a Latin mistranslation of the original Hebrew. And, it’s a poetic nickname of the King of Babylon anyway. No fallen angel, no true name of Satan, just a bad translation. If Lucifer were truly the name of Satan then why did a fellow named Lucifer become a Bishop of Cagliai and later a Saint (see: St. Lucifer of Cagliari )?
