That makes perfect sense.
Ya I don’t believe it either
can’t find the source currently but I’d read before that they tested pages/ink and they were written over decades by different people.
either way, it’s a super dope book.
All of the shows based on the Cursed Book a.k.a. The Codex Gigas is all hype. Even the supposed tale of the scribe gone insane and possessed is not documented during his lifetime nor closely thereafter. The only reason it is documented at all for being a cursed Biblical tome is because the scribe went over the top on the images in the book itself for its time in history.
How better to advertise a show than to hype up the tale? It is like every episode of Ancient Aliens.
To necro the thread for any other interested people: the codex gigas isn’t dangerous to the casual onlooker. I have spent more than 40 hours staring at just the first page alone. You will have strange, frightening dreams and fantastic ones with much meaning, you may see things in the day that you saw in those dreams in passing–a face from the dream scowling at you in a car’s tail light. You will be overly hot or overly cold when you try to sleep and awake multiple times in the night if you displease or mistreat the codex. It can get almost impossible to sleep at a certain point. A tired mind is an easily agitated and impressionable one, and it is a cunning trick that took me many days to realize the purpose of.
If you can see the danger coming, it can’t touch you. As to this book’s author, the thread has used deduction to determine it isn’t Satan. If I may, Its the adversary, the catch, the egregore of the egregore yhwh or so I believe in that understanding. That book is like a building, a house come alive with inhabitants.
I never took any precautionary measures whilst reading it, so to avert those effects you might try, but it is an insult to the book, and its author, so is not reading from the first page onward or taking any intoxicants, even things like turmeric, but not black turmeric in a tea is unacceptable. Also no cats in the house if you can help it, the more astute reader will recognize why. It is an experience for the brave but cautious and curious. If you want something similar with far less trouble for yourself–the shams al-maarif can be used in much the same way. I was advised while speaking with deities not to read it and use the shams instead–so I stopped.
In closing its certainly not a pleasant experience though interesting. I believe a few speculations I made are wrong, about its author per se, but everything solid is correct. I have left out much nor would say it on a public forum because it came from the book. None of it was life-changing, but it belongs to the book. Again you have nothing to fear from casual entanglements, but if you hear something like rinigng while on shrooms or whispers coming from outside or inside just ignore them as best you can. Those are portals used to trap souls. Fae do the same thing in Britain. You’ll become depressed for a time–quite a while–if you pay them a little too much attention. Just put some music on or call a friend over. There’s better things to spend your time on if you’re curious. Only read this if you’re advised to beforehand as the immediate effects are annoying if you dont want to deal with them.
P.S. This is probably the most comprehensive source online detailing the books workings or something like a guide. Most all of this comes from experience of myself and a friend’s working with it, and the person who introduced me to this text. so some of it is aural in other words.
