You’re right, the modern occult is definitely full of fantasy escapism and self created fantasy dimensions from favorite books and movies and other horse shit

I agree with your stance that the purpose of magick is to bring the divine into the here and now. astral travel for instance should rather be a way to explore other dimensions of existence and gain insight into the nature of things an apply them here

While self-created fantasy dimensions can be distracting and limiting, astral travel can provide an avenue for true spiritual growth and understanding.

I recommend the writings of Samael Aun Weor who writes on this from the Gnostic perspective. The above link links to some of his works.

I know this is from a while back but I find this very interesting. I know there are disagreements on this site a lot about what is possible and impossible. If you are up for it, I would like to talk more about this.
