Hi there, this is my first time on this site and first time really studying any of this. I would like to know what steps I can do in order to determine whether or not I am on the right path in life, particularly with my career. Any help will be greatly appreciated thanks.

Apologies. I missed it. You did indeed post in the bulk thread. 
Divination is a great skill to master (along with meditation) and probably would help you with your problem. There are lots of topics discussing methods and tips in the Divination section.
