The ridiculousness of it all is best exemplified in the HBO series Deadwood, where they had the characters all use contemporary swearwords, because actual historical vernacular would’ve sounded toothless and implausible to a modern audience. So we see 19th century settlers yell “cocksucker” at each other as if Tarantino was involved.
