If you think 117 words (before the apology) is so “long” it needs apologising for, it may be your brain trying to escape a socially-imposed ever-shortening attention span? 
You have NO need to apologise for this being longer than 40 characters, and it’s horrifying that anyone has made you feel so suppressed! Your words have value, and anyone who tries to curtail that, through example (Twitter) or through outright telling you to trim things down, is an enemy of Thoth, god of words, literacy, and Magick.
