Spiral, If you’ve been here long enough, you know the original version of the Spider and the Green Butterfly was crafted with approval from the haitian council. The only thing alleged different between the first and second editions is that Koetting alleged to remove the blinds per the lwa. You say they would drag you to Haiti for initiation if they wanted you to be initiated by another(which fits my experience of Cernunnos affecting me positively with Veves), but why bother? Are these beings not able to go where they please? Are they not timeless? And most importantly: if what you say is true, then who initiated the first Bokor? My experience with spirits is that if they say something will work, it works. period. If you are so skeptical, I challenge you to acquire a copy if possible and perhaps start a thread on your reading.
Hi,
I’m new here but had to comment. I know Kenaz Filan very well on a personal level. I have done ritual with him. His personal path has detoured a bit, but I recently asked him to help teach me Haitian Vodoun. His response was the only way to properly learn the rituals and the meanings behind them is to find a reputable Haitian Vodoun community and immerse yourself in the culture as well. Without the cultural immersion you will never truly understand it and you can’t learn it from a book.
i have found a mambo who i have known and bought ingredients from who will initiate me after the classes and a few years in the culture
Well, I was going to comment, but see that voodooking said it for me.
This simple folks, if you want to get initiated into voodoo, find a houngan or a mambo, or like Kenaz said, find the community and get a reading to see if it is in your path. If it don’t align with you spiritually, and they are legit, they will tell you. If it does, ask to take the next step. If it doesn’t and they are really good, they will point you in the right direction for you.
This same process applies to Palo, Ocha and Ifa.
hi, where can i find books on voodoo? can u name somes for me?
Welcome @carstaixs It is a rule of this forum for all new members to properly introduce themselves, so PLEASE CLICK ON THE IMAGE BELOW and tell us about yourself and any experience you may have in magick, such as what you practice, how long you have practiced, areas of interest, etc:
I have a friend who is from Haiti and practices Vooodoo. I asked him a question , whether the path requires initiation or to be connected to an egregor, and he said - absolutely not! This magic was always available for anyone to use, and all the initiations, as I have suspected - are a scam for tourists!
