Hi, everyone. I started a new job four weeks ago, but the ‘team’ is just me and my boss. She’s always busy and hardly has time to train me. I’ve made some minor mistakes out of nervousness, but nothing that would harm the company. It was just some spreadsheet entries during my training.
However, she gave me very negative feedback, saying that at the moment, I’m not meeting the company’s expectations and pointed out areas for improvement.
The thing is, I haven’t done anything serious, and I’m still learning. She was harsh, saying that at 30 years old, I shouldn’t be making small mistakes, even though I come from a company where all the processes are different.
Another relevant factor might be that on my first day, she said that my arrival caused discomfort because I was earning a bit more than others. In the past few weeks, people have been telling her that I’m always on my phone (I only checked it when I had nothing else to do) and that I hardly greet them.
Anyway, given the feedback, even though I’m working on improving the points she mentioned, I would like to know how I can secure a permanent position in the company. Please give me some tips.

Thank you, I really enjoy working with Halphas. I’ll try the others as well.
Not really metaphysical advice, since DarkestKnight already gave a pretty awesome list of options to choose from.
But it might be worth it to consider this:
Your new boss might be pushing you a bit harder and her harsh demeanor might be a method to motivate you to grow rapidly (not saying it is the best method, but a method for some nonetheless). She might be wanting to make sure she gets her money’s worth and it might also be some signaling to the others that she might pay you more, but expects more in return as well
.
All you can do is try to not take it too personally for now, stay motivated to impress the hell out of your new boss and try not to cause too much extra hostility from " the others" on your end (also for now). Not saying this is the case, but from the perspective of someone who has deals with a lot of new employees regularly at work. It’s your “job” to prove yourself and to assimilate these first few months, not the other way around.
Any tactics on how to go about this situation metaphysically, would probably go towards that end if I was in that situation.
Hope you find your way and “the others” will cease that childish backstabbing soon.
