You don’t. Tarot is not really meant to be used like that.
However, sometimes, a spirit may speak through tarot imagery, and it will be up to you to interpret what it means, as there are not only traditional meanings to each card, but also personal meanings. Some readers will designate a specific card as belonging to their patron spirit, for example, so whenever they see that card appear in a spread, they take it as a direct message from them.
Tarot is a divination tool. If you want to learn how to identify spirits, then my advice would be to learn how to do energy scanning, and recognize signatures.
